1995 SW2 Auto Tranny Reverse Problem

I have a '95 SW2 with Auto transmission. Everything works great when cold, but once it has been driven enough to attain normal operating temps, the transmission has difficulty engaging reverse. At a complete stop, such as when pulling out of a parking space, I place the shift lever into reverse and nothing happens. If I give it a little gas, say to about 1200 rpms, there is a clunk and then reverse is engaged with a slight jerk.
Changed tranny oil and filter but it made do difference.
Again, this only happens once everything is warmed up, no sign of a problem when first starting up and it goes into reverse smoothly first thing in the morning.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Raymond

common problem, as long as its only reverse and not the drive gears. call up saturn they will say "upper valve body", few hundard bucks? sure! NO! go over to the forums on saturnfans.com, look for a post by wolfman in the how-to section called "reverse slam cure"
