Ok, so I'm trying to fix my LS tranny, it has a broken shifter fork. So I am trying to seperate the gear housing from the bell....if thats what you call it. I got it kinda seperated, I have a 1 inch gap all the way around. But it seems to be stuck on something. So I decided to stop before I fucked something up even worse. I think the tranny may be in gear...first gear, would this be causing the problem? I raelly want to fix this! So thanks to anyone who helps me out.

There's usually a plug at the end of the tranny that you have to remove. Underneath it, there is a spring clip that holds the tranny case onto the main shaft. You need to open the spring clip a bit so that it will release the case from the tranny.

yeah thats your problem and make sure you spead it open when dropping the case back on... learned that the hard way...
