I have a 1988 Toyota Tercel and i want to put some undercar lights on it: but the way the front bumper is shaped it looks like the actual bulb will be shown and thats illegal where i stay. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thanx.

My only suggestion would be a body kit/ground effects.

I think your best option is to sell your piece of shit toyota tercel, and buy a real car.. Then, dont waste money on piece of shit underglow. Do you think your tercel is going to win a car show?

ive seen plenty of hot tercells beat ferraris and other hot cars in races as well as shows. but the minimum budget to that is about 25 grand

word, well, i would sugest going to your local hardware store, buying some mesh grill, and putting it on the front of the light so that you see meshgrill instead of the actual light, problem solved. you would only need it to be an inch long at that, and i know at the local home depot, they have entire sheets for 7.89 if you look around for a while, its all near the wood and crap.

The way his front bumper is set and the space is so tight there was only one place he could put the light and that was inside the bumper out of view the only way you could tell the light is there was to have them on at night (neonatron showed me a pic of the bumper) but if he was to put the grill mesh in then it would fishnet shadows or whatever pattern the mesh is and would glow real nice on the pavement that was a nice tip to finish off neonatrons tercel. The mesh your reffering to from the hardware store is called burn barrel mesh and its great to use as a mesh grill more heavy duty than whats available for autos (they use flimsy girly crap) but is tougher to cut with side cutters. I put 5 inserts in my grill and 2 on my hood for under 10 bucks. I found the burn barrel mesh near the wood like passivality said and it was rusty as heck. I use hydrophoric acid to eat the rust away used a ph balanced car soap to nuetralize it then I rust primed it and painted it. You can use bonding glue , tie straps , bolts or screws to hold it in place. I used construction bonding cement it tacks and dries quick and is cheaper than automotive bonding glue.
Im not sure if neonatron wants a mesh tho , I guess we will find out.

i used to have a 1987 tercel 4wd, i started a community for them at: www.tercel4wd.com
if you look on cardomain there's a tercel with a neon tube in the front of the bumper, where the plastic grille is. There are a number of rubber parts on the bottom of the car that you may not need anymore, but when i still had the car i looked under and there was lots of space up front and around back to put under car lighting, but i'm not too sure about the sidez. I bet you can ghetto rig it somehow. Heck, i had to ghetto rig everything in that car since there's absolutely no aftermarket for it now except for oem parts.
Also, if you got an ugly colored interior i suggest giving it a spruced up paint job. Those cars last forever man, take care of it : p

Under the car is a lip that follows around a foot from each side that lip is a great place for side neon/Led tubes to be placed just put it in the high spot so If you bottom out it bottoms out on the body not the lights.
