EGR Valve/ABS Light

EGR Valve

I wanted to know where the EGR valve is and how easy it is to change. I had the carbon cleaned from it last year as the Check Engine Light came on, but I feel that I should probably change it for good measures.

Also, my ABS light came on today and I had noticed that the fluid is below the Max Level(on the seam of the reservoir).This would be the first time I have had to add fluid in the last 3 years. Is this normal? What else could cause the light to come on?

If you're getting a code P0401 it's probably the DPFE sensor and not the EGR valve.

The brake fluid will drop in the reservoir due to normal wear of the pads and shoes (linings), or due to a leak. When the level gets that low, I'd suspect you are due for new brakes NOW if there is no leak.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, was away on a holiday and a wedding. Only got back this Monday. Anyway,I just topped up the fluid in the van when I got back. I looked around the van, doesn't appear to have any leaks. How can I tell if the breaks are the cause of the fluid going low? I had the front breaks replaced last year. I did notice that the park break sometimes comes on for a brief second, then it goes out.Could this be the result of the back breaks needing replacement?
