99 SC2 how do I replace my fan motor?

My 99 sc2 is overheating now, especially when I run the a/c. The a/c works fine while I'm driving, but when I stop, or get stuck in traffic, it shuts off and blows outside air, then my engine overheats. The auto parts guys looked at it, and tested the fan motor, and said it was shot. Is this something I can do myself? Does the a/c need recharged? I would apreciate your help.

its hard to say what really is the problem, i mean, it may be the fan motor, but if that parts guy knows so much, why isn't he at a dealership working as a tech? it does sound like the fan isn't turning on. have you ever tested a electrical sysem before?

the A/C won't need to charged. replacing the fan isn't a hard job, it even easier then testing the system. even for a first timer, i don't see it being more then an hours. just remove some of the intake tubing, undo two bolts, disconnect the wiring, pull out the assembly, four more bolts and the motor is free from the blade and assembly.
