I am a totally airheaded NEWBIE...I just started a new thread and put Caitlyn1 as my subject...I don't know what I am doing...Ok here is my question again

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME...I have a 2000 Ford Windstar and I just simply want to change the brake light bulbs...I have called Pep Boys and a Ford dealership and everyone says just bring it in for a "small" charge we will change them for you....I just WANT SOMEONE TO TELL ME HOW TO DO IT!!! It is making me nuts...If anyone out there can tell me how to do it that would be soooo great...Thanks...

The rear light housings are held in by a couple of screws and clips. Open the tailgate and unscrew the phillips screws. Carefully pry the housing out of the fender. You will see the clips--make sure they are back in their original position to help with reassy. The bulb sockets are simple twist ins.--the bulbs are available at any auto parts store

Hi...Thanks for responding...When you say housing are you talking about what I call the lense or cover...Like the actual brake light....I have unscrewed the 2 screws but it was REALLY REALLY hard to get off and I was afraid of breaking the cover...I just want to make sure that I am in the right place before I really tried to get if off....Thanks for helping me with this...

Once you get the screws off, the housing just pulls off at a 45 degree angle. It does take a good pull but you won't need to pry it at all. Just make sure you get all the clips back in position before you push it back in. The bulb replacement is pretty well described in your owner's manual, it just takes a little more effort than expected.

Lewisnc is correct of course. I have just pulled the housings (lens) out by hand but some perfer to lightly pry them out. After a little tug, they will come right out sometimes unexpectedly. good luck

Here's some links that include all the 2000 glove box manuals in PDF format.
