Trunk Release

Hello,

I'm about to replace my trunk on a 92 SL1. Looks really easy, four bolts, brake light cable, and trunk release cable.... BUT I'm not sure I know how to undo the trunk release cable from the mechanism. Anyone have experience with this?

sorry, my manual just says "remove cable", you may need to remove the refector and outer panel.

may i ask why?

remember you need to aline the trunk when you put it back on
