mmont0 we we're talking about 93-96 VTEC Prelude's which r a bit faster and r 0-60 in 6.5sec's...but yeah a RSX-S probally should still beat a Prelude but I wouldn't be suprise if the Prelude took it either....I think it's a drivers RACE but then again stats show the RSX-S should win.........tho...Stats a side I don't c y not the Prelude can't take it just my thought...

Favoring the RSX, of course. You shouldn't measure a car's performance based on different drivers since that will always vary, but rather as if you sat in the seat of both cars.
As to a prelude taking an RSX with different drivers in the seats, that is always possible. Both cars are very close in performance with the RSX leading by a bit. If a driver in the RSX doesn't know how to drive as well compared to that of the driver in the prelude, I would always give it to the prelude.

6-Speed's 5-speed's doesn't make difference in that case Truck's would be the fastest car's in the WORLD and we all know how they slow down TRAFFIC!!!...notice I said Base Prelude....not Si meaning a Base Prelude is from 97-01 with 190-200 HP from auto to stick and vary from years...97-99 190 auto 195 stick 200 stick 00-01 and 190 for auto....how is the Base RSX even close to the lude's power????? :lol2:

Ok Guys, lets take a moment to evaluate this post.
The fact that the K20 was a six speed was only a factual statement, it was not part of my proposal to prove that it is in fact better. Which brings me to my next point. The fact that a car has more gears would most likely mean that each gear has a shorter ratio. By shortening the ratio, you have made it easier for the car to acccelerate; as we all know, longer gears are never in ANY case better for acceleration. If in fact having less gears; longer ratios, are better, why don't we all drive 3 speeds? In any case, remove this from the equation, you seem to view it as irrelevant anyway.
I never evaluated any car out of its proper counterpart. I would never compare an Si lude to a RSX-S; but only in their respective categories. Si lude to Base RSX. VTEC/Base Lude to RSX-S, and Type-S Lude to Type-R RSX/Integra. It is YOU that mixes and matches cars from different horsepower categories, in order to give the Prelude an unfavorable advantage.
You can also easily buy an type-r k20; in fact the same place you would get your type-s h22, example being hmotorsonline. There is in fact a vast aftermarket for the type-r k20, because you have to remember, its still your basic k20 head, and k20 block, just with different valvetrain; With the k-series now being available in almost all new generation Hondas, it is bound to have the aftermarket bigger than that of the B-Series; which already, outnumbers that of the H-Series by many times.
Now when you talk about "Acura's best car"; You do realize that Acura is in fact not a company itself, but only a division of HONDA, the dear makers of YOUR PRELUDE.

Ok Guys, lets take a moment to evaluate this post.
The fact that the K20 was a six speed was only a factual statement, it was not part of my proposal to prove that it is in fact better. Which brings me to my next point. The fact that a car has more gears would most likely mean that each gear has a shorter ratio. By shortening the ratio, you have made it easier for the car to acccelerate; as we all know, longer gears are never in ANY case better for acceleration. If in fact having less gears; longer ratios, are better, why don't we all drive 3 speeds? In any case, remove this from the equation, you seem to view it as irrelevant anyway.
I never evaluated any car out of its proper counterpart. I would never compare an Si lude to a RSX-S; but only in their respective categories. Si lude to Base RSX. VTEC/Base Lude to RSX-S, and Type-S Lude to Type-R RSX/Integra. It is YOU that mixes and matches cars from different horsepower categories, in order to give the Prelude an unfavorable advantage.
You can also easily buy an type-r k20; in fact the same place you would get your type-s h22, example being hmotorsonline. There is in fact a vast aftermarket for the type-r k20, because you have to remember, its still your basic k20 head, and k20 block, just with different valvetrain; With the k-series now being available in almost all new generation Hondas, it is bound to have the aftermarket bigger than that of the B-Series; which already, outnumbers that of the H-Series by many times.
Now when you talk about "Acura's best car"; You do realize that Acura is in fact not a company itself, but only a division of HONDA, the dear makers of YOUR PRELUDE.

OK, since you believe longer ratios are the way to go, why don't we all start our cars in 5th gear, being the longest ratio in our car. How fast does your car feel now? How much faster are you accelerating, with your long ratio gear? Quite slow, i'd assume. The RSX btw, does NOT top off 6th gear at 90mph. Having that type of ratio would render basically any car undrivable in any given situation.

like he said... how do u know it was even racing you? plus if it was an n/a then it only has 130hp... it would be a shame if it beat u... if it was turbo on the other hand... 200hp 200ft lbs weight ~2600 plus rwd... i would be very hesitant to call an mr2 slow especially with their tuning abuility

if preludes were so damn fast and whooped on everything then why don't you see the pros racing them? 'Cus they're big and heavy. Yeah, they can put down alot of hp but they're heavy as shit.
