Well guys, I hope i won't regret this but as of today, my car is sold.

I would like to dedicate this thread to my car..hehe..and post new pics that I just took for memories sake...
The car is equipped with the infamous SR20DET motor from the Blue Bird with a JWT ecu controlling the engine. I had 3 sets of different suspension set up during the car's 3 year period: eibach/GAB shocks, TEIN Type NA and finally the JIC coilovers, which is my favorite outta the 3. It's also the highest performing suspension on the track yet it is a bit on the stiff side for the streets. (i have 10kg/8kg spring rates which is very stiff. noramlly the unit comes in 8/6 which is more comfortable)
the car also has more common stuff...Greddy EVO exhaust, wingswest front lip, 2002 headlights, eyelids, rims.....etc. etc.
I sold the car as is so the guy got a really good deal. Why did i sell it? Honestly, I dont really know. Just thought maybe i'll try my luck and post some ads and this guy popped up and offered me money...so next up its either a S14 or a WRX for me.
Most of you have seen pics of my car but here are some new ones hopefully you guys would enjoy :)

I will still be on this forum though as I love SR motors and i am starting a project of building an ultimate track engine from my DE motor that's originally in my car...will keep you guys updated on that.
Anyhow, I miss my car already....

Well, Luke, it's weird, because just yesterday I was showing my gf pics of your car to give her an idea what a turbo setup should look like... :)

Anyway, it's both sad and positive. I really liked your car, but I also like to see something new done, some new projects, so don't disappoint me on that one! And good luck!

dood-

i LOVED your car- good luck in the future with new projects...

for anyone - or yourself, luke, i have a 1993 240 sx with 50,000 original miles sitting in front of my house- we have more cars than we can use and this one is just an extra one.

it's gold in color and it is an SE- with a pop open moonroof (not the sliding type)

Anyone interested?

By the way- the engine is in PRISTINE condition... my father purchased the car for my lil bro but then we thought something was wrong with it (turns out the AC rubber tube was draining back into the cabin- got it fixed now) but- so we thought something was wrong with it and my lil bro got a lil mercedes instead... (lucky f/cker)...

while i'm on the subject- we have the following cars for sale:

1998 GS300 silver with 17'' matte finish rims 38k miles
1998 GS400 blue w/ gps and chrome 17'' rims with i believe 20k miles (it's in the garage and i'm too lazy to go see the mileage)

1995 Nissan Quest white (for those of you who are tired of racing) with 70k miles on it...

1970 Porsche 911T with 100k miles on it... silver

and of course- the 1993 goldish 240SX SE with 50,000 miles...

anyone?... anyone?... bueller?...

Well I must say I'm a little disappointed. :( I think you should get a nice face lift S14 and DETize that bad boy. You already know my impression of the North American WRX. :p

I'm glad to hear you'll be sticking around.

Luke, you're killin' me (sniffle). I almost feel bad for buying the car. Don't worry, one day soon something else will catch your eye, and you'll practically forget about the G.

Until then, just know that I'm loving the car and I'll take care of it. I would have posted earlier, but I've been doing some driving. :D

Since I'm new to the P11 world (although not B13 &B14) I've got a lot to learn from the experts on AF. I'm going to do a couple archive searches so Roffe doesn't throttle me, and then I'll post some questions.

BTW, welcome aboard SE_R_Dan! You one lucky SOB! :p

Question for you, Luke. Are you still carrying out your business to support G products as before? Or will there be changes? Like..sorry, I no longer own a G so I don't have that part??

once upon a time, there is this really nice looking automobile called the G20. although quite slow, the driver had massive skill maneuvering around the tracks to keep up with other faster cars. However, the poor G20 can never quite catch up and pass the others whenever the corners end.....
One day, the G20 had enough and finally decided to get serious about some real power. The SR20DET arrived and the fun had also begun...
1st and 2nd gear quickly runs out as the front tires won't gain traction until the end of 1st gear...3rd gear, with all the traction that it needs to go, body pushed back to the plush leather, the car reaches 75mph in an instant. The G20 never fell off the boost, 4th gear...lift, and the car slows down from 105mph and cruise on the freeway into 5th gear.
The G20 felt pretty happy about its performance and with capable suspension and precise tuning, the G20 went back out on the tracks and ran happily ever after.

while cruising on the freeway at normal speeds, an unexpected "enemy" snuck behind the G20.... "The almighty E36 M3" said the G20. And there it was, an estriole blue BMW M3 with 240hp of inline 6 power had been spotted glueing to the G20's rear end with its HIDs blinding the driver. (it was my friend's damn M3..heheh...true story!!)
Although every bit against street racing (and any type of racing that's not conducted on a real race track), the G20, with plenty to prove itself now, downshifted to 3rd...PSSHHHHH...as the blowoff released to the atmopshere (GASP!!! TO THE ATMOSPHERE!!!! DIE LUKE DIE!!!!), head to head, the M3 and the G20 went on an unprecedented battle.
60, 70, 80, 85...PSHHHH....4th gear, 90, 100...the G20 actually gained more ground, second by second, and was out running the Ultimate Driving Machine!!!...however, the G20 topped out at 120mph as the M3, lagged behind by about a second, zoomed passed by.
Moments later, after the two exited the freeway and greeted each other, the M3 was quite surprised by the sudden competitiveness that the G20 brought. Finally out running the M3, after years of defeat on the track, brought tears to the G20's headlights. The G20 smiles, turns back and happily enjoys...PSHHHH...the new found power..PSHHH.....PSHHHH.....

 Why do you keep saying this? I don't care if you vent to the atmostphere, it's just air. However the car might run a bit better if you recirculate it. Eclipse and Honda usually vent to the atmostphere because the MAP doesn't mesure air but...ahh whatever. I'm sure you're heard it all before. :p

Because any car with a MAF should have the BOV recirculated. Compromising the air/fuel ratio for a "cool noise" (OK, I admit I love the noise too!!) is concidered a sin. Especially on the SE-R mailing list.

There are a few BOV's that still make a rather loud noise even when recirculated however. :)

I know but it's (was) his car. Now if he was venting the wastegate to the atmosphere I'd have a concern. It's really a drivability/engine managment issue. Not bad enough for a "die luke die" comment. :p

Hmm.. I wonder if you removed your cat and had the BOV venting to atmo if you could shoot some flames out the exhaust during shifts?

I see Touring cup racing on SpeedVision all the time and when ever they shift (mainly down shift) they shoot a nice flame out the back! :D

I don't know what the BOV would have to do with this, unless you're thinking that it would ignite pure gas. :) You could set up an anti-lag system like in the WRC cars. You know how those work right, turbo boy? ;)

Because near your shifts you will be running WAY too lean since you are letting the air vent.

Anyway.. just thinking since you will be dumping way too much fuel that maybe it will uhm......... explode out the back or something... ?

Nahh you'll probably just detonate your piston to hell! :D

The way anti-lag works on a WRC car is something like what you have in mind. They dump a bunch of gas into the cylinder when the exahust is about to open and ignite it when the exhaust is open this sends the flame front out the exhaust and into the turbo where the flame is still expanding. This keeps the turbo spooled up and shoots a nice flame out the back. It also has the down side of cooking the turbo after a time and I think they replace it every day. :(

I have missed a bunch of details but I'm pretty sure that's basically how it works.

Actually, way too rich. You vent the air. The fuel is added in the manifold, almost at the valves. The ECU will think more air is there than there is and add the appropriate amount of fuel. But the air won't be there so there will be too much fuel.

Now that I know about this exploit, I want my money back. I don't know if the SR20 can stand up to this kind of abuse! ;)

Funny you should mention, but the day before I picked up Luke's, err my car, I emailed my friend back in Tucson and told him I wouldn't be buying his E36 M3 after all. It's a very nice car, but I much prefer my new G20.

I do plan to make some stereo upgrades, but nothing obnoxious. A nice amp, a little 8 inch sub I can hide away somewhere, and eventually a speaker upgrade. And yes, I plan to recirculate the BOV ASAP. Sorry to disregard your vision Luke, but I prefer the stealth factor. But to your credit, the car does run pretty well venting its metered air. Now someone let me know where I can find/fabricate an adapter to recirculate that Blitz DD BOV! Pleeease?

Sorry I haven't posted much, but I haven't gotten off work before 10 all week. Things will let up in a few weeks and I'll be on more.

actually Dan, before you bought the car, i already had some arrangement with Injen to re-fabricate the intercooler pipings (with mods to the BOV to recirulate). they are going to redo all the piping with polished aluminum, it will be done very nicely! i know the owner of Injen so he is willing to give me a great discount on those. If you ever shopped for polished aluminum piping you'll be surprised at how much they are...Chris at SR20 was gonna charge me $1500 for everything!!!
email me if you are interested, it's a fraction of that from Injen.

I'm guessing the polished aluminum would look just as good as the polished/coated mild steel that HS uses for their CAI, but it'd weight a fraction of what the steel does? Also, do they acutally polish the aluminum, or coat it with a chrome (looking) finish?

i specifically told them to polish it, paint would just be too cheezy for me.
