i have a 2001 sc2 with only 13.000 miles on it & in prestige condition. my resonator pipe cracked at the weld on one end of the resonator. $400.00 to replace the dam thing! the service manager said that the new resonator will be a bullet type with no welds at each end. did anybody else here have this problem? they said that it could happen, but it sounds like a factory defect to me.......

UPDATE: after several e-mails to the saturn corporation threatening to never buy any saturn product in the future, they decided to reimburse me for the whole cost of almost $400.00 for the repair today (7/7/04)! how nice! my car is a year out of warranty, in excellent condition with only 13.700 miles on it. we should not have to pay for someone elses mistakes. that clearly was a factory defect. if anybody has a problem with their new or almost new car just out of warranty that they feel should not of happened, i suggest to contact the saturn corporation, not your local dealer. my local dealer was not interested in my request for reimbursement, they just told me that they "seen" this problem before, & it's common in northeast ohio for exhaust components to take a beating due to winter, potholes, ect., but i say a stainless exhaust system should not crack in half that is in excellent condition with low miles. the saturn corporation wisely chose to retain my business then lose it forever over a few hundred bucks which is pennys to them......
