My 98 Windstar is rusting from the inside out just aft of the sliding door. This is a bit early for rust in my book. Time to trade in on the Honda Odyssey:)

You wouldn't by any chance be a Honda sales person, would you?

Not only am I not a Honda salesperson, but I'm not a salesperson at all.
And damn proud of that LOL!

Ford did step up & help me out & it's good for now. It is a shame because these could be much better vans than the odyssey.

Well, I keep my cars over 100K, and I think this is very dissappointing. It's truly a glitch in the metallurgy since it is happening to many Windstars in precisely that particular spot and no where else. I asked if there was any sort of rust through coverage, and the service mgr with the usual dumb look said 1 year. I've had four Hondas and in 98, the Odyssey was just to come out and the Seinna was too small and in demand. We got the Windstar Northwoods for a steal, and it has actually been very reliable. I just can't stand rust.

OK Just checking. No offense intended. Just being a bit crafty and devious I have often thought if I were a salesperson selling vehicles of a competative nature I might conjure up "stories from hell" on websites like this just to instill a little fear, if you will, about purchasing this particular vehicle and maybe steer them over to the type I'd be selling. Anyway, I have a '99 that has around 50k on it now and have had it for nearly 2 years. No problems so far. It sits out around the clock and takes tours on the Wisconsin "rust ways". No rust yet and no compaints. Hoping to keep it that way.
