I have spent a ton of money on mine. Engine runs like crap, rough idle. Have chandged 02 sensors, plugs, wires, coil pack, still showing number 2 cylinder misfirs. Read on forum that upper manifold might need to be cleaned. Before I spend more money, has this worked for anyone else.

What about IMRC's ? I just had mine replaced and I still need to have the manifold cleaned. My IMRCs started going out three years ago and I just now replaced them. The van started dying when I would back out of a parking space or when I came to a stop too quickly. I would sometimes have to put it in neutral and keep my foot on the gas to keep it from dying. Any of this sound familiar ?

What is the IMRC?. I have an 1995 windstar that starting to act up, since I given it the basic tune-up. It was running fine until I decided it needed a tune-up. The van has 130,000 miles.

How about the injector?
Did you check compression on #2?

"IMRC":Intake Manifold Runner Control

Ford designed these wonder manifolds with $.20 o-rings that when they fail you have to replace the whole lower intake manifold. My '96 went through two of them under warranty. The engine finally self destructed when the dealership was only authorized by Ford to replace the leaking head gaskets, lower intake and timing chain gaskets instead replacing the engine. Antifreeze in the oil ate up the connecting rod bearings and oil pump bearings :banghead: .

I believe the 2000 model years and up had better intake designs. So far my '01 with 49,000 miles has been trouble free.

I'm not much of a mechanic, what is an IMRC?
