Just bought my daughter a 93 SC, Any known quriks with this car?
bought it really cheep with a couple of issues:
the passengers side automatic seatbelt is frozen in the back position, also it has two seperate male end in the door frame, why two?
Drivers side seat wont recline, I'll probably yank it out this weekend and take a look at it.
And lastly, 2nd gear synchro going out, how hard to repair or is it cheaper to just purchase a used or rebuilt transmission to put in? Not a big issue now.
Engine is very clean and runs great.

be sure the motor has voltage between the wires going to the motor( brown and gray i think). if i understand what you are saying about the (two seperate male end) my saturn, and a few other GMs i've worked on, i beleave have a second door striker rod connected to the first. i don't know if this is for straigth(sp?) or if the door uses a double clamp or what, but its nothing to worry about. there was a recall a while back for the 94s, i'm not sure if the 93s where affected, it was the teeth on the gear wore out to fast, accullty causing the seat to recline without pull the lever. the only way i can see this is the problem is if the last owner whent in there and forced it to stay put. more likey, i bet the last owner never used it and the gear rusted in place, it happened to my parking brake.
about the trans, ask over at saturnfans.com. we when just talking about no 3rd gear - http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=33540
other common problems on the S-series was a high idle due to a bad ECTS design (old ones made with nylon, new ones made with brass, $15 piece) or clogged up EGR ( just take it out and clean it). the upper motor mount goes sometimes too, you'll be able to look at it and see if it bad or not.

Thanks for replying,
I will hopefully get the time to pull the drivers seat out tomorrow and see what's up with that.
I figured out where the second anchor came from on the doo frame for the shoulder seat belt. Looking through the owners manual it shows a spare clip that can be popped into the channel in case the seat beat fails to retract to the rear position. In this case it is stuck in the rear position but someone went ahead and popped in the back up.
