i hope this is the best place for this forum...ya ever hear someone says something incredibly stupid at a carshow?

when i was at detroit last weekend i heard some guy at the murcielago display say "i love these kind of mustangs". there was also these two hicks at the gtr r35 display. one said "whats a gtr?" and the other one responded "oh this is the new 350z"

Fools are everywhere. Just take a moment to listen anyplace and you're bound to hear someone talking about shit they obviously know nothing about.

these 'experts' pop up at dirt tracks too....Usually two guys who are taking the kids to a demo derby..............go to the track once a year and can't tell a sprint car from a street stock...... but they still argue about it :D

Some of the things people say at carshows are hilarious! It's mostly people exaggerating things though.

" Hey that's James Bond's car... The B-M-W Z-8?... Hmmm I wonder where the rockets launchers are?"

" I bet that new Lexus cost more than our house!"

" You see this is the Jaguar XJ220"
" No it's not, it says Lamborghini Diablo right here"

Just things I've heard before.

the javitis center last year at the international auto show here in NYC. i was looking for the perfect picture of the Vanquish when some STOOPID guy walks up and goes "why is that mustang behind a rope whats so special about it" and walked off, i was pist for days, some people are only alive because its illegal to kill them

That is really how bad it gets. I saw this one place online where people were arguing wether or not the Lamborghini Diablo stolen in GI60S was actually a Diablo. I was about to put an asshole reply cuase I was so pissed, but then someone already shot them all down with a big technical response.

Thank-god for those people

This has nothing to do with car shows:
Last year on a trip to NYC, we are passing the Worlds Fair place. Then 2 dumb people engage in stupid conversation:
"Hey look, it's Shea Stadium!"
"No, it's the World Trade Center."

 :bloated:

BMW reps who don't know who Chris Bangle is and what E46 stands for.

At Universal City Walk (when F&F opened there were imports on display) there was this kid who was standing at his friends 5th gen. Civic coupe (white) and was bull$hitting me when i asked what was all done. It was pretty funny how he was trying to be loud as he talked. Said he has been in the import scene since he was 10. He was like 16 there and full of $hit!

Guess that is why it was his "friends" ride :D

Mate in all fairness that concept car sux! Nissan execs should be shot or hung. ok enough venting

Again in all fairness most people in the States have no idea what a Skyline GTR is. Taking that into consideration and looking at the shape of the proposed R35 it is easy to see how confusion would happen. Just sit back and laugh to yourself or better yet walk up with a mate and start talking about the car loud enough for the others to hear. They will either walk away but most times will sit and listen.

Just enjoy the shows and go there knowing what you know and laugh at the so called experts.

I don't expect you to know, unless you follow BMW alot.

Chris Bangle is the current Chief Designer for all of BMW and is responsible for the abominations that are the future BMWs. He's totally ruining the BMW "look". Anyone who follows BMW hates him--heck most of the car industry think he's taking BMW into the wrong direction. However, he's not all bad. He was responsible for the E46.

Speaking of E46... (nice segway, eh? :D) BMW uses internal model codes for all their cars. It also became conveniant for the public to use those model codes too when referring to BMWs.

E46 is 1999+ BMW 3 series. The previous generation 3 series were E36 and the one before that, E30. The E stands for Entwicklung, the German word for Development. The X5 is E53, current 5er is E39, current 7er is E38, and new 7er is E65.

And now you know... and knowing is half the battle!! (GI Joe!!) The BMW reps should at least know what E46 stands for and who Chris Bangle is!!

yesterday,I went to the auto show and there was this dad, with his 2 boys, didn't look like he knew anything, the only way he could tell the models apart was to read the sign next to the cars,he he told his boys what kind of car it was at each and every sign he could read.
