Anyone have the trouble of the rings getting stuck to the block???
it's a 1999 sl homecoming edition and I had to get it bored out so now it's a 1.9L. The garage said it would have cost about $3500. Thank god for warrenty.

ok, first, every S-seires is a 1.9. so i'm assuming it was bored out a few just enught to fix whatever the problem was, but still keeping it at 1.9L. second, the rings can become stuck, but on this planet, they don't get stuck to the block. normally, a stuck ring is when a build up of carbon on the ring prevent it from floating in its little notch on the piston. for the most part, in all the years of the 1.9L saturn, the rings were never top of the line. its one of the reasons why we burn so much oil. there are several cheapie ways we can extend the life of the rings, but it pretty rare to do a full rebuild and bore after only 5 years(warrentys are good) what happened?
