Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me? I have a 98 Windstar with the check engine light on. I had the codes read. I have four codes, first the vehicle speed sensor, O2 sensor, and fuel error on the last two codes. I have replaced 3 O2 sensors already. Is there more than that? I have a vehicle speed sensor ordered, but where do I replace it? I can be driving down the road with the tack on 0. The transaxle is not wanting to shift correctly, because the speed sensor is not reading. But I am still driving it. I don't know what to do about the fuel system. Thanks for any help. I appreciate it.

I also have a 98 Windstar. FYI there are four 02 sensors in this vehicle. one on each of the exhaust manifolds (zone 1 & zone 2) and one each off each catalytic converters pertaining to each zone. Zone 2 is the one you see when you open the hood and look directly down. the first 3 cylinders you see are 4, 5 & 6 and this is zone 2. Bank 2 would be the one off the converter for that zone. follow the exhaust manifold downstream. Zone 1 is for cylinders 1, 2 & 3 and there is an 02 sensor off that bank as well. If you get under the car and look up into the engine you could see it. It has a greenish housing like the one in zone 2.
hope this helps. also, I had a friend who worked for ford and they said that the universal ones that you can buy aftermarket do not always work. He has had people come in for service after they tried to replace the o2 sensor with an aftermarket one. He replaced with a ford sensor and it worked. He told me to only buy ford sensors because there calibrated for their vehicle. We took his advice and our Service Engine light went out after resetting the codes and it has not come back. We went through inspection no problem.

Thank you for the help on the O2 sensor. I will have my husband replace that this weekend. I think we can handle that. My next question would be about the fuel system on the 98 Windstar. On the codes, it read P1151 Manf. Control and system 2 enrich. Does anyone know what that means? The person who read the codes said that there might be a clog in the fuel and might be getting too much fuel??? I have been having alots of problems with the van right now, because of the O2 sensor and the vehicle speed sensor. But we are replacing those this weekend. Any ideas about the fuel system? Thanks for the help!
