I know this has been discussed before, but i cant seem to find it. ok, I am just about done rebuilding my D16a6 and i am thinking about picking up a zex system. What i am wondering is which is better on the engine, running a dry shot or a wet shot.

Found some info herehttp://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=874809&postid=9918519
They seem to say that more than 75 shot of dry is not good without upgrading fuel supply (detonation) and the benefit of wet is it provides fuel in mixture, etc.

Go with a zex dry system, easy to install, easy to use. if you want to stay with a 75 or under shot but if you plan on going with a bigger shot than that you should get a wet system. Even with the 75 shot dry system you should upgrade fuel pump, fuel rail, fpr, injector's to be safe, run colder plugs and run correct timing.

Dry for a small shot.
civicHBSi91 - Are you using a 70 shot? I wanted nitrous so bad for a long time, but decided against it. Its so cheap for so good amount of power, but I was concerned about the saftey of it. :(

55shot dry, denso plug's and 93 octane and other than the broken motor mount and bald tires it spices her up alot esp on top end.
75 shot some tires and that fixed motor mount and some time should put me low 13's high 12's depending on what tire's im on.

9.2@77mph with 2.2 on factory tire's, broken rear motor mount only trans side and engine side holding it together.
arent you using slicks of some sort? or road race tires?
your car is also lighter :)

mph dictates speed, E.T. dictates traction. I had heavy 13" wire wheels with a horrible offset (fatties) with some Hoosier road race tires which totally suck ass. even with a big burnout i was getting no traction until halfway down the track :(

I have it saved.
maybe your launching too high, I launch at 2k basically a high idle...
i hear you car spin halfway through 2nd and catch
i should get a video of how much my engine moves without that back motor mount. its not actually broken...the bracket came off the car so its the bracket and motor mount in one just not connected to anything, i dont know if i was bolted down or welded down...gotta get that taken care of im sure that will help me out alot.

with drag radial's I could run easy 14.5's with just intake and exhuast.
with the nitrous right now I could hit 13's and with drag radial's the time would come down alot more.
pussy way out? what's not pussy then? all motor? turbo? supercharged? they are all way's of making your car fast you ass.
blow my shit up? you must not know a god damn thing about nitrous, so just shut your mouth your making yourself look really stupid. people blow their motor's because they inject too much nitrous without proper fuel. just driving your car put's alot of wear and tear on it.
If nitrous was so bad then it would be illegal to use at the track or in NHRA and other racing association's.

there's no difference between a turbo/supercharged/nitrous motor, they are all form's of FORCED INDUCTION. you don't go calling a guy with a turbo pussy...why not? he's using FORCED INDUCTION just like me with my nitrous that is FORCED INDUCTION.

its cool.dont have to get all hot about it.relax ,drink a beer and and enjoy the day.you think i dont know anything but i do.we can argue all day long if thats what you want, but i wont so.look if you were to race me for an hour in a road race.you cant be fast all that long.you will loose and in drag you would win.Im not a bitch so dont take this as that.but its cool.

We'll you don't show much knowledge on nitrous so I can only go off what you give me.
I could road race, I dont need nitrous, with better tire's I could probably do decent on a road race course. There aren't many too close to me so therefore I don't do that.

its cool.just take my advice and drink a beer and relax.road race is fun you should try it some time.i live in socal and i live by this canyon called turnbull.Lots of people go up there and run their cars.it goes down round 4:30 am or so.i love the twistys.upgrade brakes and your susp.takes lot of foot work and its a really good challenge.the people that go are really serious and know their shit.some have nos but dont use it cuz not much of long straits.try it.

definatly dry for small shots, reduces the risk of a nitrous backfire (fuel/air in intake ignite). For larger shots go direct port.
I may run a small dry shot (like 25-30) on my car to spool the turbo, we'll see how it runs w/o first.

I'm going to have to agree with civicHBsi91 for once... (kidna scary)
But nitrous is a verrrry effective way of making cheap HP. There's nothing to diss on. If you use it safe, its really not that bad for your motor at all. Its like saying Turbo is for babies because its hard on your engine, that doesn't make any fucking sense. Bottles are for babies is an excuse dubasses use when then get hoooped on by someone using nitrous and they're mad that thier $600 header didn't do shit.
Colder plugs, retard your timing a bit if you want, good gas and a small shot will be quite safe. (just as safe as any other form of forced induction)

thank you siz, I feel like were the 4th gen like....red vs blue type thing, spy vs spy, always have decent debate's.
Another thing is everyone is misinformed about nitrous because people get it throw on a 75 shot on a stock d15 and run it to it's death or they install it on poorly running motor's already.
before I even installed the kit I changed plug's, did a compression test and I used 93 octane. even though it would have run fine because zex makes one of the safest kit's out there.
and the closest track is deleware and it's $100+ to run all day or something like that. I deff want to try it someday but im focused on drag racing right now.
