I was expecting to be more like a rally style car with the name Dakar, as in the huge race in Dakar, Africa. Looks cool though, that stuiped paint is extra nice.

Thanks guys, i was thinking of taking this concept and making more views of it etc. and making a good copy of it since it is a sketch. I didn't really finish the Sketch all the way as you can see the front bumper is a bit weird. unfortunately i drew this car during Algebra class and it was in my notebook thats why i got the lines. The lines on the car, i drew them to guide me a little more. I'll fix some other stuff on it like the front rim and do a good copy of it, maybe in color! And yea i am also a fan of Dakar Rally but really didn't realize that the name was the same until just now.

Update:

I did a sketch of the side view and the interior.

The side would look like this...I need to lower the front a bit and fix the part where there is an indent and other stuff that are hard to explain.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/73957DSC07312-med.JPG

Here is the rough sketch of the interior. My first try on interiors!

No im 15, and im homeschooled...

Public school pisses me off.

I have a learners permit, lol although i drive by myself quit often, but ive never been pulled over so meh.

In GA you have to wait a year after taken the written test to get your licensed, so even though ill be 16 in about a month or so have to wait till january... :eek7:

Ok, back on topic. I did another copy of the interior but this one is sorta different. I used french curves on this one to do the dash board and other parts.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/73957DSC07431.JPG

Also i did another copy of the side view, fixed it up a bit more. the front windshield is now visible since its round shape. Also i lowered the front a bit.

seats look so 90degree straight, like they are so uncomfortable.

distance of gear stick is miles away from steering column.

here is some cheap advice: get some dealer literature. go to any car dealer and ask/take some stuff. study the inside of your own car. or parents'. does your interior look like those?

i know this is a concept, but you need basic interior fundamentals first. in fact, draw an interior *around* a human body sitting in it. afterall, this is what the interior is for. it must surround the driver.

your attempts are not bad, though. you are very close to getting a stronger design.

SeCrEtMoDdEr
06-14-2004, 06:53 PM
damn, your a pro bonz...
i hope you dont mind if i call you bonz...ok doll

ok, its nice, i like your old side view better tho...and well, for the interior, bonz pretty much pointed everything out...although i would have never noticed that gear stick being far away

Dayum

hes a pro

nothing gets by him, i just hope he doesnt pick on the first person i drew, which will be shown shortly...and by shortly i mean next week :( exams

ANYWAYS

Joeham, you got sum skills, im not into designing but if i were, i dont think it would be as easy for me as it is for you

:loser:<<i was way too lazy to click "[Show All Smilies]" so i used this one...just take away the L part ok...keep the thumbs up, but take away the L...ok

cool

U have the eye on perspective, but now try to develop the actual concept drawing style… check some concept art and figure ur own mistakes.
