How high can you rev?

I went to 7200 yesterday in 3rd gear, shifted to 4th at 65-70mph (gotta keep my eyes on the road)... no pop, no black cloud. If it blows it blows... I'm gonna have fun regardless... LOL

hmm 70 mph in 3rd for my DX is only about 6 grand... <.<

7,200 daily... Love the way the D15B screams at high revs...

I took the A6 upto rev limit once or twice... It sucked... But I think that was 7,200 as well, so I guess the highest Ive revved is 7,200... So far havnt hit the rev limit on the D15B (I think its like 7,500 or 7,600 RPMs), dont want to either... Thats a scary feeling...

driving my friends car fully built b20vtec. 9500 but the motors power band is higher than that.

on my car, well both my ls and my dpfi has the same rev limit so only like 6800 on my car

an S2K came into work today, saw that 9k redline and the push-button start and needed a new pair of pants :D

haha just checked on the way over and 70 mph in 3rd gear is only 5k :D

ok, read the v-8 thing about not able to tach that high... i know a STOCK chevy 305, in a ta and it will rev past 6 grand... WAY PAST... the stock tach stops at like 6 and it goes past that and like all the way around on the opposite side of the 4,000k mark.... we did a little guess measuring and it looked like around 8-9k...dont kno how.... all i know is the timing gets sooooo far advanced (since its so high rpm) it just keeps backfiring and stuff.... instead of being like baaaaaaaaa its like bladbhaldablbaSHIT.... i dont kno if the tac is reading wrong... but it is pretty high rpm... wounder if it would be more acurate with an aftermarket tach

oh yeah, the d16z6 bounces off 7200 nicely in second gear ;)

d16a6 with head work and performance cam to 2000 ....just to see that it turns on

lmao because i havent put the exhaust on it and dont want to blow the engine i still havent even broken in the rebuilt engine or the new clutch...

yeah those big v8's top out at about 6500, and thats only if your trying to blow it up.

i hit a massive 2,500rpm in a diesel truck owned by a friends brother, that's the rev limit on it too.

i have a z6 with stock pm6 ecu. ive only taken it up to 7000, i always freak out about it after words too. im liek "OMG i hope my babys alright!!"
i dont think i hurt anything, i hope not anyway...

man i rode in a diesel tow truck, that thing gets loud as hell starting at 2000rpm to redline(sort of like the VTEC scream...)

anyways, ~7000rpm in my own car(D15B VTEC), ~8200rpms in a friends car(B18C EG)

i hit at least 8500rpm daily with my sohc zc and have been doing so since february when i put it in. i dont blow any smoke and i've hit 180kph in 3rd gear with my dx tranny. i think thats around 110mph or something.

i was able to do 90 in 3rd with a dx tranny, i think the highest ive ran my rpms was about 7500 maybe 7800, doesnt sound or feel right goin faster then that.

i used to rev my 1990 crx vtec all the way to 9000rpm, i blew my engine up at 145mph and nearly lost control, a con rod had shattered a hole in the bottom end so i found a replacement had it rebuilt and uprated then hooked my ride up with a stage 3 turbo. i took it to my local M2 in knet england a ragged it all the way round to 12.5 rpm, also manage to take my crx off the clock which goes up to 150mph, i should have it on rolling road again soon, i did have it on the dyno to set up engine mangement but i couldnt find max power as it was still being run in.

this was a 16 litre quad-turbo V8. it's the brainchild of a loon who works in engine tuning an loves turbos.

twin steer axles and double-drive at the rear.

with the huge chrome exhaust stacks behind the cab. that thing has mad acceleration, even for something weighing in at 14 tons.

in the wet it can spin the rears. it roars like a beast, its just amazing.

even with only 2,500rpm on tap.
