install overhead console in Windstar?

Anyone installed a full-size overhead console in a Windstar? I'm looking at putting one in a 2000 Windstar, I see that the higher-end trim lines came standard with the overhead console but it wasn't offered as an option on the lower lines. Also, I don't see it offered as a Ford accessory in the parts books.
Looking at the electrical service manual it appears the overhead console requires a separate wiring harness that runs under the headliner to the console from one of the rear corners of the vehicle. I'm not looking to add this separate wiring harness but instead would like to power the overhead console lights from the existing dome light wiring. (I don't care about power for sliding doors (this van doesn't have power sliding doors) or the radio controls that come with the overhead console).
Also, I'm looking for instructions on how this thing attaches to the vehicle. I have the mounting bracket but wondering about the potential need for drilling into the roof. When I bought a Ford center console (floor) for the vehicle it came with instructions that indicated I needed to drill into the floorpan, but when I laid out the template and cut the carpet I found the vehicle already had threaded "nuts" built into the floorpan in the correct spots. I'm wondering if anyone know this is also the case for the overhead console, and whether there's a "template" available for lining up the console on the roof in the correct place.
Thanks.

I also am wanting to install a overhead in my 2000 windstar. Have you completed your installation? and did you ever find a template. I am thinking about cutting a slit in the head liner and sliding the bracket in this way and then cutting out the appropriate areas. My intentions are that everything will be covered by the console. I am also curious about how you wired your console was there already a plug under the head liner or were you able to use the existing wires for the dome light? Any reply is greatly appreciated Thanks.
