Removing Door speaker covers SC1

Does the speaker cover/storage tray piece just pop off the door panel or do you have to remove the whole panel? Didn't want to start pulling and damage something. I need to get to the front speakers. It looks like the covers can be popped off.
95 SC1.
Thanks for any info.

My SW2 (95) the speaker covers popped off easily without removing the door panel.

hope you didnt rip the damn doorpanel off, you have to take out 4 screws,
1. in the door handle
2. under the sideview mirror
3. on the outside door jam
4. in the molding where the locks and door opening handle are.

then lift up on the whole panel and it will slide right out.

thanks

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I hate to post a whole new reply for the exact same thing. I have this same issue but don't have power windows. How do you get the window crank off?

first, you should be able to pry the speaker covers off easily.

the crank, although i have never done this my self, is held in by a snap ring, inbetween the crank and door panel. i beleave there is a special tool for this, but needle nose plyers may work.

With a flat screwdriver u can slip it behind the crank and pop it off with a little force

try using a towel....wrap it around the crank and pull straight out
