Hey All,
I'm in the process of replacing my oil pan gasket and I have a question. The old
gasket had these little metal rings around the studs attached to the block. I got an OEM gasket and didn't include new rings. Do I reuse the rings (if at all)?
Thanks,
John

The 2 oil pan gaskets I've replaced were Honda ones, and I've never seen a metal ring on the gasket, and they still worked great. Maybe the rings on the old one just prevents you from making the bolts too tight.

I was thinking the same thing but wanted to check around before I put it together.

the metal around the oil pan gasket is like he aid so you dont pinch your new gasket...every gasket i get has those metal things around it they come on the rubber ones only.....not sure if they use cork on oil pans
