My poor 3k...

Hey guys, guess who's baaaack :) God I've been gone forever. Who missed me? Lol j/k. I wish I was comin back on a better note, but... my poor girl's been busted for a couple of weeks... She got her timing belt done a little while back, and a couple of weeks ago, it went... The freakin' guy who did it must have done it wrong, and I would ask him but everytime I see him I get pissed off... So avoidance is probably better. Anyways, all her intake valves are bent, among various other things. Anyone who's ever had their 3k taken away from them must know how it feels, especially when there's a prob with the engine. I open the hood, and there's just.. something missing... literally. It tears me apart. But after calming my rage, I realized I get to tinker with the motor now in ways I couldn't before... So that's held me over for a little while. I really miss her though, and I'm sick of driving my mom's '03 Ranger... It's tough goin from a sports car to a dinky little truck... You have to completely change your driving style... And I can't race anything with even a remote hope of winning. But it's good to be back here anyways :) I'll let ya know what's going on with her...

Wooo! Another SL to talk to :) Sorry, but being a lone SL in a sea of VR4's is overwhelming sometimes. And when all you start to talk about turbo's I get jealous, so any SL people to talk to is a welcome change :) What color is yours?

its red, yea i know how you feel all those vr4's and we lowly sl's cant compete, but our cars are still very fast in my opinion we can still beat 99% of other cars out there.

Red is nice... Mine is pearl :p Does yours have those 7 spoke chrome rims too?

And yeah, I win most of my races.... But more power would always be nice :)

no, my rims are 17 inch weld evos, forged aluminum billet :) as for races ive only lost once and that is to a friends srt-4 :disappoin weve raced 3-4 times and each time he beats me by 1/2 - 3/4 of a car length :banghead: . im pushing the 1/4 in about 14.8-14.7 how bout you

I lost to more than one car... I lost to a corvette... a viper, an rx-7, an m3, a supra, and a pos civic sleeper with a type r motor... That's all I can remember anyways. But each was to be expected... Except that damn civic *sulks*

Good to be back... And I have no idea when it's coming back. Soon I hope, 'cause driving the truck is driving me insane. Nothing happens when you step on the gas... Oh well, my car will seem insanely fast to me for a while when I get it back... Parts are coming in the beginning of next week. But I'm gonna give her a new paint job after that, so it'll still be a couple weeks...

What kind of exhaust do you have?

I"m not gonna be changing anything on it I don't think. For now I'm just poking and prodding and learning. I thought about modding out my SL, but I don't like the FWD and I'd always be unhappy with it, so I decided to wait till I get a VR4 to mod it out. If the SL was RWD, it'd be different... But no luck there. No harm in learning though. It keeps me sane while waiting for her...

when do you think you'll be able to get the vr4?

Hoping to get one this summer actually... I'll probably make a road trip down to the States and look for one. So if anyone knows of a 94 and up VR4 for sale, gimme a shout. Don't really care where it's at, have nothing better to do this summer anyways :)

i live in washington and there are always vr's for sale up here. there is one for 13 grand and it is a 97 i beleive. you'll have no problem in this state finding a vr4

Yeah, I detail for a dealership a bit north of Philly, and there are vr4s that roll through semi-often. The dealership tries to overcharge, but if you can negotiate, I can post when I see new ones come in.

Yeah, it sucks...on a sidenote, I really thought the vr4 would be a hell of alot better than it is in the snow.

Lol we get like 6 months of winter up here... The SL is pretty decent in the snow. I woulda thought the VR4 would be good in snow...

The VR4 is great in the snow - if you put on the proper rims/tires. The stock 245 Zs aren't going to do the job.

it didn't seem too bad to me

I was all over the place, granted my tire tread was worn down a bit, but it was horrible. I have to drive 4 highway miles to school from my house in NY, and if there was snow on the ground, I drove in the middle of the 2 lanes, taking up both, because I would fishtail like crazy. It was fun in abandoned parking lots, but nerve-racking on actual driving.

i just used a little gas and it would straighten out.

as for snow down in bama, if they're is any prediction for like 1/8 inch of snow, everyone will rush to the grocery store the day before and load up on enough supplies to last them 2 months
