Mickey Thompson 65 Impala?

I just got my Dad's 65 Impala SS with the 396 big block that put out 425hp. He told me that there were a couple hundred motors or something that Mickey Thompson set up and that this was one of them. Does anybody know anything about this. Can anyone help?
