SiZ, thanx for the input, i think i'll do it that way instead, gotta love free metal hehehe :D

i'll make another template and see what i think and then post it up for u guys,

the guy who said its gonna look gay, well i dont give a shit, i think it looks awesome and thats all that matters, i was looking for people to tell me if they should be bigger and stuff which is wut SiZ did, hence the fact i thanked him, marked just gave useless info but hes known for that ;) lol, j/p bro :)

Looks real good man. You know a file will take care of those bumps. Most people never use them anymore, they are on there for aligning the headlight, but sence you got a big piece of metal behind half of it I'm sure that would throw the alignment off anyway.

nah it looks ugly straight like that, put a small circle dip in it.

um having it strait floats his boat so why would he care if you think there ugly. Personally i think its hard to judge them without them being welded on and painted. just my $.02

making it straight makes it look corny though. they look like nissan s14 lights like that kinda, but worse. :-/

I say curve it a little....weld it up then bust out the grinder and put a gentle curve into it.... that's my suggestion :)

make sure you leave enough clearence for the metal to miss the headlights as it has been known for the bonnet not to shut or for the headlight to smash when u shut the hood so do it slowly the first time when u shut it

yeah i like it but i think it looks better from corner to corner like this.......

Now thats what will make the car "look mean" is an intercooler in the front of that thing. Also that did you use to fill in rust and holes on that? Cuz im getting into all this autobody stuff now and dont know too much about it. No spray paint i get at the store matches my paint too perfectly. Is there a way to match the colors?

yea i wanna toss the intercooler in for a week and see what ppl say lol, make it look like its all hooked up and shit hehehe,

ummm, i dunno if u could match urs cuz its faded and all prolly if its the original colour, what i used to patch holes and fill dents and stuff was fiber glass (for the holes) and for little dents and stuff i found this thing called liquid metal and i found it to work really well actually, thats what u can see on the hood by the eyebrows, the dark grey stuff, thats un painted, it works good and dries fast once u spread it, the hardens fully in a couple hours or so, but i like 2 give it a full 24 hours 2 cure if i do a thick layer

He needs to fiberglass then sand it. Or even a bondo build up, fiberglass over that, sand sand sand, put about 3 good layers of fiberglass on it to smooth it all out. thats what i would do, so you cant see every weld bend like u can now.

the next thing i wanna do is find someone with a DOHC ZC hood with the bump in it where the hoods rotted in spots and such, and get them to cut me out the bump on the hood for me so i can cut my hood and use it, then it would be a true custom hood :)

underneath the lip, paint it or something, just paint it white i guess, a few layers, maybe stop the light from comming through a little bit! just trace it with a magic marker with the hood down, then lift up and thats your guideline for painting.

i used 14 or 12 gauge steel, something like that, maybe 16, it was a bitch to cut with tin snips tho lol,

thanx for all the good comments guys, and about the painting idea, i dunno if i'll do that or not, well see what it looks like after i do it cuz if it makes it harder to see then i wont do it.

most people over here put polished alluminium (very thin guage) so it reflects the light back into the headlight giving you better lights and also the light wont show through the paint as bad
