can anybody tell me what years and modelsshare the same platform has 1968 chevy impala for a brake swap .example 1968 to 1972 chevelle/monte carlo/cutlass/lemans and skylark all shared the same platform and had interchangable parts.a1968chevelle ss brakes would fit a1972 cutlass and so on that was a-BODY PLATFORM.the IMPALA IS B-body platform.

You can only swap with other B-bodys. Anything from '65-'70 will fit since these years all use the same frame. The front spindles are the same for all full size GM cars from '55-'70 although I think that only the '65+ 10 and 12 bolt axles use the same brake backing plate mounting flange (I have not closely examined earlier years). For disc brakes look into MP Brakes or Baer, this is the best way to do a swap. You can use the spindles, calipers and rotors from a '70 Impala, but replacement rotors are getting hard to find and they are not cheap when you do find them. I've heard that you can also use the brake system from a '71+ Impala but I have not tried this.
