Did it break? If not, you don't need to change it...unless you have 200K + miles on it.

trust me, you want to change it BEFORE IT BREAKS. if it breaks 90% of the time it takes out the whole block(or at least the timing cover). parts are cheap, i think less then $50. its labor that will kill you, over $600. my dealer charges $710 for parts and labor. if you can, do it your self.

that motor is an interference motor, which means if the timing chain breaks, it will be taking the valvetrain with it. usually the timing chain will start to make noise, that is when you need to change it.
