4 door 1991 LX 1.5
JDM ZC Swap DOHC
PG7 ECU no resistor box
Runs fine up to 3500rpms then it starts to rev limit.
Codes are crank angle sensor and electrical load.
Any ideas as to what's wrong?
Thanks

Make sure your belt riming is correct. That is usually the cause of the crank angle sensor code. If the timing is right than perhaps the sensor is bad.

Crank angle sensor is in your distributor - might have a bad one - or your timing is off. Start there. Mine did the same thing when my distributor wasn't working right.

Got a new distributor and that got rid of the crank angle code but the electrical load is still coming up and the engine is still doing the same thing after 3500rpms.

Do you guys know if there is a difference in the wiring for the LX and DX? Every site shows the DX to ZC wiring, but nothing for the LX.

why no resistor box?? what injectors are you running?

that electrical load is probly from not having a resistor box ... to much voltage running through the system without anything to check it. yea and what injectors and stuff like that guy said.

It does the same thing with or without the resistor box

Wow - I'm drawing a blank. The only thing I can think of is double check your wiring. The stock wiring should be fine, so I'd just say check your wiring again and make sure the wires aren't grounding out somewhere on the firewall or are backwards. I'm not sure if the electrical load is refering to a specific thing, or if it's just a general "electrical load" error. Good Luck though.

Just another thought really quick - have you reset your ECU???

Is it a good resistor box? They can go bad. And you MUST have a resistor box or solder resistors between every injector or the engine will not work properly. That has to be the problem.

Just posting these links for someone to see.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.

just an fyi....

you need a pg7 ecu from either an 88 or 89 integra. the earlier 86-87 pg7 are different.

when i did my zc, i had some issues with the distributor, but after i replaced it, everything was fine

good luck

Ok. We have two PG7's and the have different numbers on them so I'll post those later so we can find out what year they are.
Thanks.

How can you tell if it's the 88/89 integra ecu?

I also want to add that the ECU has to be 88/89 and MANUAL. Maybe you have an auto ecu.

i was having the same problem with my dohc zc swap. i rechecked my wiring to my ecu and saw that my wiring to pins b10 and b12 were wrong ( my friend did my wiring).
