I recently bought a '94 SL2. When the engine is hot, it doesnt turn over. A friend told me it might be the ignition module. Has anybody had this problem before or might suggest how I can troubleshoot it?
What's the difference between the ignition module and the coils?

Well the coilpacks are mounted on the ignition module.
They do get heated up , being mounted on the tranny.
I remote mounted mine on, a peice of flat stock aluminum, and grounded it.
It works fine haven't had the problem since.
You may need to replace yours, sounds like they are already damaged.

Thanks for your insight. Would you happen to know where I could find a reasonably priced ignition module?

When you mean won't turn over do you mean the starter will not turn the engine to start or the engine "Turns over" but will not start?
If the engine will not turn over when hot, you have one of two problems. A) starting motor is dragging and needs replaceing or rebuild. B) Starter has bad ground or corroded wire connections.

Also another posibility.
Try ebay or a local salvage yard, for the module.
If not then I may be able to get you one from a salvage yard here.Let me know at [email protected]
