man, i don't know what the fuck is going on now...
i reported them to the FBI, and i'm told apparently the SS has some on going investigation into them...
then i send Batfa an email telling them i want to know why they havent responded to me in 5 months, or made an attept to ship my car....now all of a sudden i get a reply ( after 5 months of not) so now they are offering to send the car by container and refund my $900 i paid for roll-on-roll-off shipping....
i'll keep you all updated

So once the car FINALLY gets to Miami, what do you plan on doing with it? Is it already legalized? If not, What company are you using for the legalization process or are you tackling the project yourself?
I do hope you get your car soon man!

well "IF" i get it this is what i plan on doing with it...since the same car is sold in the US already (LHD & with a weaker motor of course, and no JDM parts)
and i still have the title from my 1993 integra (that i parted out, then cut up with a saw-zall) i can register and insure the car with that...if i get pulled over or anything, i can just say a JDM front clip was welded on to make the car RHD..which is perfectly legal to do..shops here do it all the time for about $2k in labor costs.
I'd mainly use the car for going to the 1/4 mile track here to race, car shows, hangout spots in miami, work on it in the garage...i really want to turbo it and use it for exclusive track use eventually though...
im waiting on Batfa to respond to my last email....if i get the shipping refund wired to my account they promised, i will start to believe what they say...its 3:10am on monday in Tokyo..as it is 1:10pm sunday here on the east coast....
ill update the situation when i know more
thanks everyone

yea about motorex, ya don't need em if yer buying a imported supra or rx7, any car that we have cause when you go to get a registration just be like, "yea, I need to get my 1994 toyota supra registered," and they'll be like "ok" right?

You have to get a letter from toyota because u want a supra right? An they have to state that it has the same engine and displacement (exactly) as the supra model over here. Then you will be clear and it has to meet epa regs.

The letter actually has to state that the RHD car will perform the same as the LHD car in crash tests... this letter would be looked at by the DOT/NHTSA... the EPA only cares about whether the car will pass the various emissions requirements...
you have to remember that cars imported from Japan don't have VIN numbers like cars sold in the US, therefore the DMV won't register it... you will need to get a substitute VIN number from the DOT (for skylines, they use the chassis number)...

I agree with exactly what you all are saying...yeah, you cannot just walk into the dmv and throw down a japanese title and be like "y0 i wanna register my car"
Nicky81-
first off..you probably wont have a title in most instances..what you will have is a certificate of destruction with a japanese translation to english...second...there is so much you have to do to bring a car to US specs it is insane...epa/dot/nhtsa....fees..fees..more fees...alot of your time...more time...its not as easy as you are trying to make it sound.
hence the reason you do not see lots of RHD's cruising the streets here in the U.S.

9D3RST

nicky81 - you're going to have to call the DOT for that info...your gonna need that if you want to "legally" register the car..
ok, here is another update for everyone interested....i was contacted back on sept 11 by batfa, they sent the car on august 30th, and the documents are on the way to me via "EMS" courier. i have a tracking number for this, and it is awaiting customs clearance at the office at JFK. so hopefully in 2-3 weeks i will have my RHD INTEGRA.

I was going to order one of the cars from Batfa, not a Skyline though, but I decided not to.

then the guy starts saying how he has 5 skylines that he is in the middle of converting at his shop...
correct me if im wrong, but isnt the only company to legalize skylines motorex?
then i said, ok, sure whatever...i got alot more brokers to call, ones that know what they're talking about..

MotoRex only legalize Skylines. I asked if they legalized Toyota Mark IIs and they replied saying they only do Skylines.

Could you not just get a car from them, drive it back yourself (and pray you dont get pulled) and register it as a kit car?

Technically...no. Legally yes. If a shop knows what needs to be done, then they can do the work. Only problem is you still have to pay motorex to ok the car to the DOT/EPA/NHTSA because they have the crash info.

yeah, Batfa finally came through with delivering the car...almost 7 full months until it got here though...they claim they couldnt get booking all this time for the car....im working on getting it out of customs, but that is a huge hassle down in miami if you dont speak spanish (which i don't)
i have actually found another rhd integra in the USA already, Nashville area...im trying to talk the owner into selling it...it is the same as the one i cannot get out of customs down here even...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but you won't be able to import an 89. The petition is 1990-1999.
On the MotoRex site it says explicitly that they do not do 1989 R32 do to different electronics.
