i got a 91 lx and the things been overheating since i got it. we've replaced all the cooling components and shaved the head. for some reason wen u press on the gas, all the coolant flows straight into the overflow tank instead of going into the engine causing the engine to overheat. then wen u release the gas, the coolant will suck back into the radiator and cool it down. its kinda of stupid but i dont know wats up with it. anyone got any ideas? broken waterpump maybe?

This may sound smartass-ish, but really its not, I have no idea what may be goin on..have you tried takin it to a shop, or callin around to your local shops and explaining and seeing what they think might be the problem? Thats so wierd bro, keep me posted...

i had a similar problem with my old engine, the head gasket had gone and in the end, exhaust was puching the coolant out the overflow, have you checked the thermostat? just an idea

here is another one that I have been caught on twice. Once with a a6 and just recently with the z6 Run the car to temp at Idle make sure you have the coolent res. full. then crack the bleeder screw on top right before the top hose goes into the motor. Let all the air out. you may have to do it a couple times to get all the air out. What I think your getting if it is not a head gasket is air expantion (sp) as you rev of course your cyc. walls get hot any air in the system will expand more than water forcing water out cause the air is traped. Try that see if it helps ya out. Just from my experence.
