91 Euro 3.1 with almost 300,000 km on it. I've driven it for 6 years and haven't spent much money on it. Just in the last year it has cost me more, fuel pump, power steering pump, gas tank, starter...all seem to go at once, but she still runs like a charm...I will miss her when she's gone....

Have a '97 Lumina LS with 135,000 miles on it, and she still runs like a champ. Out of the three cars I have had since I started driving almost 10 years ago, this one is my favorite. I have big plans for her, and will put everything I do on cardomain.com. :grinyes:

1992 Chevy Lumina, 215,000k miles! Just recently started having overheating problems, and now having to replace the radiator. This is the first major thing I've done to this car in around 5 years. Wow!

1991 Lumina two-door, 3.1 V6. 160,000 mi. The tranny was replaced around 100,000. The torque converter blew out. Engine has always been great.

Anyone know of a quiet muffler for this thing? A shop put a cheapskate muffler on it that sounds like a tin can hot rod.

Are Arvin-Meritor mufflers good? Thanks.

I picked up my z34 91 Lumina a couple years ago, it had a blown head gasket, I ran some bars transmission leak in it, the silver powder.. Sealed me right up, I ran the silver powder at about 150K miles. I now have 189K miles on it. Only Major things I have done to it where radator leaks and regular matenence. Sealed the Radator with egg whites, witch workes real well actually. Recently did a Transmision filter change, and sence then my lumina has been making a weird humming noise, but it hasent blown yet.

Our 1993 Chevy Lumina with the 3.1 L engine has over 210,000 miles on it. I thought it more dependable on a recent vacation trip to Nebraska than our 1993 Buick Park Avenue. I replaced the ball joints and the drivers side tie rod end, and my daughter and I aligned it to 3/8" toe in. Drove beautifully. Checked the mileage and we were getting between 34.4 and 34.6 MPG. I run Valvoline 10-30 Synthetic oil in it. Only problem we had the whole trip was a leak in the heater hose just under the intake at the air. Got another 4" piece of heater hose, replaced it with the existing clamps, and we were off again. Cost of repair.. nada! My friend in Oshkosh, NE had a piece of 3/4" heater hose in his quanset. Drives and stears wonderful!! New tires on it and only thing is some rust and some of the interior lights? may not be working.

Wouldn't sell it for $3000.00 as I conside it a great car for gas mileage and well built .. will get me there and back!

I have a 1990 Lumina Euro 3.1 2 door which I have owned since new. It has 261,000 miles. Original Powertrain. 3rd computer, 3rd alternator 4th battery.
My problem. BAD Ventilation air flow, and I have disassembled everything. I posted to a thread on this repeatedly and no one answered. Any Ideas?

Are you tryin to say that you had one with 444 thousand miles on it??? Now you have one with 320 thousand? If so that is so cool. You should post a picture of your odometer. It's not often you see a vehicle, let alone a passenger sedan with that many!

'99 Lumina LTZ 3.8L. 195,000. Runs great. Gets down and moves with lots of power. I pull two snowmobiles in the winter and a fiberglass boat in the summer. Sometimes (most the time) difficult to pull boat out of water because of the front wheel drive. Had to replace valve in tranny at 90,000 because it hopped and jumped when it shifted. It is starting to come back. A/C clutch started chattering and was too lazy to fix and to cheap to pay someone so now I suffer in the heat. Had to replace window control and lock control on drivers door likely do to rolling down window with snow and water on windshied. Replaced ball joints, tie rods, and rear struts. Bought for $3,000 at 80,000 miles.

Interesting that I found out tonight that the center brake light works but the tail light brake lights do not. Fuses are fine and so are bulbs. Richie Straff above stated the same thing and says it is multi-function switch.

Have to remove steel bars under hood to get at fuses, battery, and A/C coupling. WTF? Why 3 fuse blocks? 1 inside passenger door and 1 under each steel bar under the hood. Cannot even open fuse block becuase of the damn bars.

1998 with 100K. Initial problems with Brakes where all lights would dim when braking, fixed by dealer under warranty. Alternator replaced with new Durlast Gold 3 yrs ago. Serpentine replaced due to cracks. Turn signal switch starting to go bad. Seat springs are getting worn. A/C went out and replaced compressor and drier unit. Oil leaks from top of engine from under throttle body, small leak but annoying. Suspension is getting soft and can feel it in turns and bumpy roads.

No other repairs and car starts every day.

Need to replace original hoses. Did flush coolant at 90K.

Power windows, power seats and radio work fine. No rain water leaks from body, really thankful for this.

135500 on the 90, still going strong after a near call with the transmission (Torque converter, required drop to get moving wihtout stall) A/C still blows cold, however the selenoid recently got stuck on FULL HOT!!!!:banghead: Suspension is very soft, hit the gas on an oily-at-all road and you'll spin the tires!

Hi I have a 99 lumina with a 3.1 and it has 180,000 miles on it and the only thing that I have done is the regular maintenance to it. It still gets well over 30 miles to the gallon on the highway:grinyes: . She isn't prettiest car but she is paid for and runs just as smooth as the day I drove it off the lot. Yes I bought it brand new!!

My 99 w/3.1 has 123K.

I became a Lumina fan with my 96 w/3.1 which I sold 3 years ago with 215K miles. Other than the white paint that was falling off in sheets and the cup holder that the bottom bar broke off of, this car never saw a repair - only routine maintenance. It even still had the OEM exhaust!

My 1996 Lumina has 103K on it. I have replaced alternator, a cracked Exhaust Manifold (cracked)...Intake gasket (twice), once under warrantee and once last year..(600.00)...
Rear Struts, and I its been skipping at a stop light, I sprayed a can of carb cleaner in PVC hose and put some 93 octane in it along with a couple of cans of Fuel Injector Cleaner, running better now.
I love this car however, white leather interior, just starting to show rust..
Oh yea, AC has not worked in a few years, I just recharge it myself with one of those quick and dirty kits from the Autoparts store..It last about a month
Best of all

Hey Nick, you use those Fuel Injector Cleaners? I found they make the o rings leak. I hate that stuff!! Not sure what to say or how to clear up the rust on them seats, but maybe you should invest in some car covers!! My seats are cloth, silverishblue, and my car is white. All white.(but what car in Las Vegas isnt white,,,lol)But I remember why I drove Chevy's in high school and college now. They are the best vehicles made!!! I love my LUMINA

I Have 92' Z34 Still running strong, after taking all the money out of my pockets.
She has mmm sitting in my room not knowing about 240 000. But thats just what the thing says:evillol: my engine is probably around 75 000 same with the transmission.
As for everything else i've fixed it should'nt have anymore breakdowns for a while... hopefully... the only thing that is wrong with her is she needs a new knock sensor.

P.s- oh ya and she's going for a fresh paint right away:smooch:
