I have a '98 LTZ with a 3.8 Series II engine and 128,000 miles on it. With the exception of brakes and tires and a battery, all I've done is regular maintenance. Come to think on it, I should do a tune-up....I've owned it (second owner) for about five years now and I've never done a tune-up. She's still running strong (knock wood).

Mines a 95 3.1 with 182K. Rebuilt tranny at 170k...locking converter gave out, otherwise normal wear. No oil consumption to speak of, but seems to have a couple of the common probs listed in this forum.

93 Lumina Euro, torch red, still a hot car with 260K miles, Everything ORIGINAL, I've ran mobil 1 synthetic since 100K. Valvoline Maxlife trans fluid, and still never have had to replace anything under the hood except spark plugs. On the otherhand, the car has been in a handfull of accidents, so every body part has been replaced at least once! Still a strong runner, so I keep fixing her up!

I have a 1991 Torch Red Euro 3.1 Sweet car, i gave her a nice cold air intake. Makes her sound deep. i love hitting the high rpms on the freeway hehe.
She has 141k miles. almost up to 142, Engine and trans are orig. shes been a high idling a lil lately, and a small amount of lurch, which it doesnt do it all the time. which is fine as long as its not during a important time lol.
The car was in a accident before i ever had it, some retard backed into it and messed up the rear passenger door and fender. both replaced and all. couldnt tell the difference.
The car leaks Tranny fluid, which i thought maybe it was a loose tranny pan, so i tightend the bolts up a little bit. and i still get drips. The orig owner (my neighbor and like family) said that the Tranny pan gaskets need to be replaced, and that the oil pan gaskets are the same. And im not paying a mechanic $400 to drop my engine to change a $10 part lol.
i also got the dash curling, on the top, and a lil bit of curl on the middle section :( and my headliner falls pretty bad. There is a nice sound system in her, and i got some HID lights :)
shes turning into my American heavy chevy heh.
I really want to get a 1993 Black Grey or Torch Red Z34. I love those cars. I test drove one, just like my lumina, But faster, turns better, and O so much nicer. With the dual exhaust, Flows :) i really want one. i just want to get $13k buy a 93 Z34 5speed, and have that extra 10k for a new Paintjob but orig color code and pinstriping emblems etc. Flows, Interior redone, something besides cloth, NASCAR WHEELS!!!! lol i would so do that if i could here in cali. engine and tranny both rebuilt with warrantys Super charger :)
now i would be a happy guy if i could have that. dont need the super charger, but i can wish!

I have 97 Lumina 3.1-LS.... 208,000 miles on it. till now, i have installed the PCV Valve, MAP sensor, new compressor and accumulator, and cleaned the intake and put new gaskets with a K&N filter.
when i have bought this car, i was getting 17 mpg, and after all the parts/cleaning, i am getting 24 mpg with a/c in the city.
glad to have that average. the engine is still perfect so no worries.

this is my very first post...
My 97 Lumina (bought used) has 132,000 miles on it and I just put it in the garage today... think it may have a leaking intake gasket :(
Let's hope it doesn't cost much to fix it...I really love my Lumina. I had a 95 Lumina and it had 110,000 on it when it met it's demise...due to accident...not of my doing. I love my Luminas...people thought I was crazy to buy a used Lumina with all the new vehicles out there but I have to admit...this car rides wonderful, very little repair to them (fingers crossed) has schwoop to it when accelerating...all the things I want!!

hmmmm which of my 2 (soon to be 3) Lumina's do I quote? My '97 is just about to turn 50k and I'm checking the oil and water weekly waiting for the intake to go bad. However, my '90 with the 2.5 litre 4 banger has just over 315k on the odometer. I bought the car 2.5 years ago with 252k on the clock and paid a whopping 200 bux for her. Now some 60k+ miles later, I'm donating it to my kids for their use. Only problem with car so far? Had to replace the steering column because the ignition cylinder locked up on me, and I paid a shop to throw some new struts on the rear. Past that, she runs like a bear. However, the 315k on the clock is misleading. Person I bought her from replaced the engine at 195k according to the records he gave me when I bought the car. No idea on if it was a new engine or a junkyard engine with miles already on it. At best case scenario, THIS engine has 130k on it, and uses virtually no oil.

i have a 93 euro sedan. just turned 160,000 today. i got it 3 years ago at 104,000. ive replaced the rear brakes 3 times(calipers, pads, and rotors), the front brakes twice(same as rear), struts when i first bought her, oil pump drive shaft seal, that stupid composite coupling that screws into the intake manifold(oh, yes...i had loads of fun with this one), outer tie rods, and just regular maintenance. she still runs great, but aint that pretty(large amounts of paint missing...yes, its white). shes the best car ive ever owned but im thinkin about getting a new car...

I first got on this site to see who else had the miles I have on my car. I have a 1992 Lumina euro 3.1 coupe Red,with 354,000 miles on it. I drive 1 hour to work and 1 hour home 6 days a week. Original engine and transmission. It doesn't burn any oil and runs great. I have repaired little things along the way but the major stuff has never failed yet. I am going to try to get to 400,000 and then take it from there. wish me good luck.

96 with 3.1=138,000 miles, have had to replace upper manifold gasket; 98, same engine, 130,000 miles, replaced upper & lower manifold gaskets....not cheap! Also, seemingly unsolvable AC problems on the 96, so I gave up on it, it got too expensive for no results.
Otherwise, just routine stuff like alternator, turn signal switch, electric window switch cluster.

'92 Sedan, 3.1, about 125k miles.
I've replaced the muffler (with a Flowmaster) and put in K&N intake, other than that just little things, general upkeep.
Did have to get an oil leak fixed when I got the car a year ago, the plug where a distributer would go had come out... leaked about a quart of oil every week or two.
Other than that, I love the car and it's never given me any trouble. It's a good blend of power, reliability, and comfort. Something I can get quick starts out of (0-60 in 9.5 for an old sedan ain't bad) but still take road trips in comfortably.

I have a '95 Lumina APV with 145,000 miles and it runs great. I have had to put some repairs into it but I love it. So far I have spent $600 for engine repairs, $700 for misc. repairs(replace broken door handles, brake job, oil change), and around $900 for front end repairs. I don't think that's too bad for a free vehicle.

164,000 on my black 1997 base model. I just bought it 40 miles ago and it needs a bunch of little crap. Lots of burned out lamps on the instrument panel (AC, radio, fuel gauge), the fuel gauge is not reliable (see seperate thread on that), the turn signal switch works fine and the brake lights work fine, the panel between the taillights is coming loose, and the right front power window switch doesn't work going up.
117,200 on my wife's 1998 base model. It's perfect except for clearance damage to the driver's door and left front fender. And it's missing three of the chrome lug nut covers on a hubcap, plus one of those lugs has been changed for a plain lug nut so I need one threaded lug nut and three caps. She also has more chips and scratches than I do. Her turn signal switch is starting to fail, because when she signals for a left turn, the right brake light goes out. Yet for a right turn, the left brake light works. With no signal on, brake lights work fine.
Hers is maroon, mine is black, but mine was repainted in 2004 and washes up NICE. They are equipped almost the same. Mine has power mirrors and electric trunk release. Hers doesn't. Hers has a rear defogger and mine doesn't.
We're hoping they both last past the 62 weeks (her car) and 80 weeks (my car) that we're paying on them.

My '93 Euro has 333,000km or 208,000 miles going strong. It's such a solid car, I bought another 3.1, but the new ones with aluminium heads don't compare. On the rare occasions this car does need parts, they are relativley cheap too as there are so many out there still.
