Coolant leak?

A couple of months ago my low coolant light kept coming on, and when I checked the coolant there was oil in it. I ended up having the head replaced, as it was cracked, but now the same thing is happening again. There's not a lot of oil, so I don't know if that is residual from before or not. Any suggestions?

whell, u shud have changed the oil... the cracked head would cause coolant to enter the cylinder on teh intake stroke, and would go down into the oil, contaminating it. there is probably a leak somewhere in one of the rubber hoses.

We changed the oil. And there are no signs of leaks anywhere in the engine compartment. The good news is the coolant level has not gone down for the last three days. I am hoping that the guy who changed the head just did not let all of the air escape the coolant system, and is now working its way out. :banghead:

try fluching the cooloing system and cleaning out your coolant resevoir i had the same problem when i blew my motor last year. oil was cached on the inside of the resevoir and in the lines e flushed it and i havent had any other problem with it yet. this may not be your problem but it is one way to find out. it is also possible if that you might have a bad head gasket i think i am not positive but check down in the spoark plug wells to see if there is oil in there. hope this helps

Was the head you put on used,rebuilt or new. Saturn SOHC head are bad for cracking at the journals, thus causing oil to mix with coolant. When replacing the head ALWAYS have it magnafluxed, pressure testing usually does not find this type of crack.
