Hi,
When I said that I would enter the comp, I didn't really know what I was going to build. So I sat down with my unmade kits and a list of things that I wanted to do in the future.
This is what I decided on, probably too common and predictable to win anything, but hey, I was gonna build it anyways. Note that this is 'inspired' by Top Secret and not copied, I will leave that to the experts (FOTW) and buy one :-).
The donor kits are 1 Tamiya Supra, 1 Castrol and one Sard (just for a second seat).
The first step was to open the doors and hatch of the Road car. The later is pretty tough because of the rear lights, so some plastic was left above them and sanded down afterwards. The rear hatch was then cut from the Castrol, this time with lights, which were again sanded afterwards.
The wide body was achieved by cutting a square around each wheel arch, spacing out with styrene and reattaching. Front arches use sheet aluminium to achieve the sharp rear edge. All of this is incomplete and requires much more work.
The 'hump in the bonnet is to allow a 'Jun' style turbo setup
To allow me to use the engine with race style interior, the engine bay of the road car has been mated to the cockpit/rear of the castrol car at the rear of the bulkhead.
Anyway, here are some very early pics, the rear inparticular needs a lot more work (and putty) and is nowhere near the correct shape as yet, it actually needs to be flat all the way across the back to the outside edges of the wings.

Something light to show off the curves, like silver leaf, or bronze gold. but looks real damn cool. I always thought of doing this or something like it, but I suck at putty. Good luck on your build.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
In answer to a couple of questions, wheel choice will probably be :-
'Re037' - The yellow car is this (or will be) :-
http://images2.fotki.com/v21/photos/5/51677/219346/01z-vi.jpg
wheel choice will probably be :-
http://images5.fotki.com/v67/photos/5/51677/778521/ABK132961B-vi.jpg
or maybe:-
http://images5.fotki.com/v64/photos/5/51677/778521/ABK132985B-vi.jpg
although I just used these on a Skyline, so I don't really want two the same at the moment.
As far as the turbos are concerned, I started with a length of aluminium tubing, not sure of the diameter, but Tamiya sprue fits nicely inside which will come in handy when I build the down pipes to the intercooler.
Next a length of sprue, approx 3inches, was warmed and wrapped around the tube until it overlapped. The tube was pulled out and the loop was cut (both lengths) where they crossed. You then warm the loop which is kind of twisted and flatten so that the ends meet. Fill any gap and superglue to the tube.
Next, I took a length of narrower rubber tubing and glued one end to the tube at the same point as the sprue meets and then simply glued and wrapped around until it met and cut.
Loads of flat aluminium paint to run into all the small gaps and, voila, just cut/file away any excess aluminiun tubing and fit, with the joins downwards, to the manifolds.
Bigger pics can be found in the fotki link in my sig.
Next for the model will be the intercooler, plumbing and exhaust downpipes, followed by the suspension, drivetrain etc.
Thanks for looking and all comments/encouragement.

Hi,
and again, thanks for the kind words and encouragement.
Not too much to report, been busy setting up my new pc, hopefully the camera gives better pics now.
The main job has been sorting the intercooler and fuel pumps.
As far as the intercooler is concerned, it is nowfitted but still needs some detailing work, clamps etc, and the joins in the pipes need to be smoothed out. The fuel pumps are plumbed but need to be wired yet.
Here are some pics.

that supra is looking so so so amazing. cant wait to see it when its finished.
The widebody kit just looks perfect, proportions are great.
Wouldnt expect anything less than perfection from such a great supra builder such as yourself.
Also those wheels look perfect.
i will be following this very closely!

Thought that it was time for a quick update.
At the moment I'm not totaly convinced that it will be ready for the comp closing date but I'm going as fast as I can
Got the first primer on the main body part, all seems OK with just a few small imperfections to sort out. Next will be the bodyork inside the door openings, ie the sills and front and back bits, not sure what you call these. Then the doors will have inner panels built and the hinges sorted out. Should be done in the next couple of days.
Had a change of heart with the wheels. The front are standard and the rear have double chrome rims and use Ferrari F50 tyres, nice and wide. Just need to trim away about 1mm of the wheels rear edge and then adjust the hubs to fit the car at the correct width. They will have the centres painted gold on a black metallic car.
The rear bodywork has been cut pretty high like the JGTC cars and looks a bit odd at the moment, I will be putting a couple of big exhausts under there and then a huge diffuser to fill the gap between body and road.
That's all for now, take a look:-

Have done a bit more to the Supra, making pretty good progress at the moment, just hope it stays like that up to the closing date.
Recent work includes door surrounds on the inner body from styrene and also the metal work on the inner doors, door cards will be the same yellow carbon decal used elsewhere on the interior. Door hinges tomorrow, the hatch has to wait as the cage leaves no room in the rear so the hatch will be hinged directly to the cage.
The wheels are in the shed drying, gold auto paint, but other that that this is what (hopefully) the end result should be like.
The front suspension hasn't been built yet, I am waiting to get the rest together including the wheels so that I can mix and match the parts from the 2 kits to get the road front level with the race rear.
At the moment I don't know what to do about the rear wing, top of the list is a Studio27 2001 JGTC metal wing (The Supra kits come with 2).

Awesome job, very clean indeed. I love it. You should get some pics of the car at another view other than birdseye. :iceslolan :smokin:

It's getting there!!
Had a nightmare with the paint, think it was maybe too damp in the shed. As you can see, I have had to sand a lot off but it's all under control, the weather has cleared up and I can hopefully get it redone tomorrow.
Rear wheels are adjusted and fitted, front have been adjusted to fit but not in place yet.
Bonnet has been decalled and I am half way through doing the JGTC wing.
Other than the paint, all is on track. I dont think I have ever done a kit where something didn't go wrong :disappoin even if only something small.
