i've got a friend who will be goin over to the states next month and gonna get him to buy me some stuff, i was thinkin of skunk stage 1 cams with the valves,springs, retainers. what do you guys think of skunk? are they worth the money? or shall i buy some other alternative? what else would you guys recommend me changing?

If you're only getting stage 1 cam why are you replacing the springs and retainers? Also, why are you only getting a stage 1 cam? Do they even make much power over the super-cheap ITR or CTR cams?

If you get some cams, look into a new intake manifold. 1st gen B16s have tiny IMs..

If your getting the valves, springs and retainers, might as well go with some stage 2 cams...

Also, a ITR/Skunk2 Intake manifold would help open up the breathing on the 1.6

but i read on their website that stage two gives you rough idling, what kind of setup would you recommend? not being too expensive.

i have stage2's in my b16 and the idle isnt bad at all. my friend has stage3's and his idle isnt even that rough. sometimes u cam out at idle and the ecu just catches the motor before it falls on its face.

but neway, sounds like ur doin something similar to what i am, heres my setup:

b16, stage2's, springs/retainers, closed deck block, 3 way port/polish, 9lb flywheel, stage2 clutch, 50 shot dry nos, obd1 conversion --> hondata. srp 10.5 cr pistons, forged h-beams.

i should be good for ~200 hp before the nitrous. :)

good luck with ur n/a build.
