i know im gonna catch some grief from wilmo and rx7king but oh wells.
Tokyo Auto Salon 2003 RE Amemiya "Final 7"

http://www2.hawaii.edu/~rserikak/myfavorites/front1%20copy.jpg

there's going to be some variation between the tokyo auto salon ver. and mines because i dislike the circle tail lights they used on the real car, the rear will look more like the greddy 9.

real deal:

Wow is right! I'm guessing you are not going to flair the fenders? Good luck, you seem to be on the right track.

im going to add flares on the back but it will take some time since im working on this model in sections and im only 40% complete with the front :banghead: next will be the sides and last will be the rear

its a GT2 road version althought i think the real car uses the front off a 956 or something? :eek7: (note: if you're planning to build this model you'll have to cut the front end on the porsche in half to widen it. i had to widen it by 3 mm or so)

i think you posted something up in the general modelling forum about some of the re amemiya cars being way too "overdone" :lol2:

p.s. nope sorry it won't be in the contest as you can see i don't want to rush things. half arse jobs aren't cool

well Amemiya's GReddy FD was that pastel pink. IMO i think it would be a dope color for your car...kinda like getting back with the roots of the original Porsche front from the GReddy FD.

http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/retuden/pic/greddy/greddy8.jpg

i duno its up to your taste...

other colors that Amemiya uses on their cars:
-Dark Orange
-Pastel Blue
-Pure White
-Gunmetal
-Green
-Army camo
-Yellow
-Royal Blue
-Ferrari Red

there are a few more but those are his fav colors for the cars.

well its all primed and ready for the air brush...i've decided to go with a tangerine looking orange much like the real car..i still have ALOT of regrets w/ this model esspecially w/ the fenders i REALLY dislike them..it doesn't have the amemiya "style" in them :banghead: anyways here are the pics N-Joy

well it wouldn't be a amemiya car without the rear defuser so here is a pic in the early stages...i still have to attach the "winglets' on the ends and do a lot more sanding ...n-joy

hey its been a while since i updated this project but i've been working on it constantly

anyways here is the updates...i thought i could use the fujimi rear tail
light on the tamiya R-1.. (i mean they are both FD's RIGHT?!). i figured it would only be slight modification and the fujimi one has the amemiya spoiler built onto the lip but take a look...
http://www2.hawaii.edu/~rserikak/svgactivity/tailbad.jpg

as you can see the fit is REALLY off..i even tried fitting it onto the fujimi RX-7 and the fit was off...the boys at fujimi really are slacking...so after some :swear: and :banghead: i decided to use the tamiya tail light which you know is off the first gen FD.....fast forward 2 weeks later and this is what i have
http://www2.hawaii.edu/~rserikak/svgactivity/tailsgood%20copy.jpg

i drilled the holes in the tail lights to replicate the last gen FD's they will have inserts later...also i molded a spoiler (made of styrene) on which was a real pain..oh well

you know i said it would take about 4 months to finish this model when i first started this thread....man i was way off....

Wow. Superb!!1 I wouldn't worry about the flares too much. They look great, even if they aren't exactly Amemiya-style. Can't wait to see this thing shiney! Good work on the custom tails too.

Well, Have missed this thread when it came by the first time, but I must say I really do appreciate your work, it looks stunning, even if you don't (or didn't ) seem so very happy about it
.

Can you provide us some overall shots of the work done to it, please, and overall, keep on the crazy conversion.

I used Fujimi S13 headlamps on a Tamiya S13 - straight fit. :D Shame to see you weren't so lucky!

I have to say I'm stunned at how good it looks so far.

tetsuyagarage
05-08-2004, 03:13 PM
thanks for all your kind comments, bigfrit whatever i showed so far on this thread is all i have...i like to keep the suspense lol... anyways on the topic of the side skirts maybe i'm just too anal? amemiya RX-7's have a different flow on the fenders than any other company
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/retuden/pic/greddy/greddy_final_side.jpg
as you can see on the rear fenders you can tell it is an add-on piece bolted on to the body that flows all the way to the tail lights where mine looks like the fenders were "rolled" out.....

anyways i'm putting the car in the garage for a week to concentrate on my finals oh well :banghead:
