std and dx questions

I've been wondering what makes the dx's runs a little faster than the std since the have the same motor (d15b1/2). So what do you guys say? If I upgraded my std ecu with dx ecu, will there be any power increase or would it feel the same? And would the 4spd slow down the dx ecu from pumping 92hp. Or how about upgrading the 4spd to a 5spd, would I feel any difference? I've been wanting a little more power, especially around town since these std's can't keep up very well in city traffic. I just want some power without really tinkering around with the engine. Any suggestions would be bery helpful!

DX ecu cam MPFI from a SI also a 5spd would help. Also aftermarket intake helps alot for STDs

the 5spd tranny help, cuz u would have a higher final drive for the highway, and the final drive is slightly more aggressive compared to the STD

I'm pretty much aware that the si trans and the dx trans have different final gears, but I guess now what I'm asking is whether or not the std ecu is any different from the Dx ecu. If it would give me a little more power, then it'd be a simple plug and play item. But I'm wondering what you guys would say about it. And would there be any difference between the throttle bodys of both cars and if so, could you change any of it?

the throttle body is different on the two engines. the spacer plate under the throttle body is different too, the STD one is more restrictive, and the TB doesnt open as much either. change that out if you want to get a bit more power.

Wow, now that makes a difference. Seems like putting MPFI on it would be easier than taking all the DPFI apart and changing everything to DX standards. Thanks for the info. Oh.....and by the way, has anyone done this before, changing an STD base throttle body to an DX throttle body?
