Have to go to ASE or Kenne Bell and have them reprogram your computer or disable the rev limiter(the chip is soldered in, so there is no actual replacement chip that you can plug in). Why would you want to disable that feature? It's there to protect your engine from over-revving when you are in park or neutral and the car is not moving. Unless you own a PT GT (turbo engine is a HD design and comes with all the goodies), you need to change the rods (and possibly the pistons) if you plan on stressing or racing your engine. The stock N/A rods won't hold up, especially if you add in an aftermarket turbo or supercharger.

As far as your transmission "shifting early", that's pretty much designed into the transmission. Many drag racers used to leave it in 1st, knowing the tranny will shift at about 5800rpm through all the gears. It's an old racer's trick and you are not really losing anything. In many cases, racers end up with better ET's.
