Here's the thread from a few days back where I started it and was in the painting process:
Skyline and Z car build progress (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=194183)
This one gave me some paint problems, the paint crazed the plastic some, and even after solving that problem w/some less volatile thinner, the Tamiya clear re-etched the surfaces a bit. So after smoothing the two good coats of Tamiya, I changed to Gunze Mr. Topcote, and ended up using the entire can. The decals were applied after a couple coats, and then more coats were applied over the decals. Had I left the decals to dry longer, perhaps they wouldn't have gotten the few cracks in them... :uhoh: It's really not bad, but I was rushing. I really kept the interior/chassis simple. I love the color scheme, and the overall look. I matched the taillight treatment w/the headlight treatment.

Here are some more detailed shots of the front and rear, where you can see the lamp detail and mesh detail on the fascia.

I like the rear light treatment. what king of mesh did you use for the front? Didn't the mesh affect the front mount for the body?

Thanks, the mesh is some leftover from a Tamiya WRC model; it's much thinner than the plastic that was removed from the fascia...I put a piece of black cardboard (index card inked w/a black marker) behind the mesh so you wouldn't see through to the chassis mount. Plenty of room for both.

It will be! :smokin: I'm taking all Nissans...my two Z's, and my two Skyline 350GT's. I'll be vending too.

Sweet. What's it like to have two great cars come out of your 1:24 shop at once? Great work, despite some apparent difficulties. I really need to make it up to the Atl area and see yours and CADguy's and all ya'll's models. Great work!
