Worked on drift cars for the last D1. Hubert Young was a customer of mine from Motorex . He had an R32 GT-R . At RB Motoring we did a roll cage , oil cooler , exhaust mods , and a good once over on the R32 GT-R for the 1st D1 in the US.
RB Motoring is about 10 minutes away from Irwindale Speedway , where D1 was held.
The crashed S14 is Huberts new drift car. Was ? his new drift car. It got finished thursday afternoon before the event. Crashed Friday. It will be fixed.
We got it to rolling condition yesterday. Took a big hammer , some pry bars , new wheel , fixed tension rod. It rolls , it starts and moves. The guys from Motorsport Dynamics are going to come down and pick it up next weekend.

A GTR would make a very interesting drift car, I know the GTs-ts are popular in Japan, as are repowered Cefiros, but I would have thought the AWD and HICAS et al on the GTR would make it a very reluctant drifter.
And I know just what its like to finnish a car on Friday, pull it out of a ditch on sunday, carry it into the workshop on sunday evening, and have it racing again the next saturday.

For D1 with his R32 - we pulled the front driveshaft out of the R32 to make it RWD only
