Initial D is better than all of these movies, no joke. But if I had to pick from the two listed, I would lean toward Gone in 60 Seconds. If FATF didn't have so many stickers and big ass aluminum wings, it would have had my vote.

Damn, this thread is so old, I can't remember which one I voted for and I am too lazy to go back and see what I posted. :p

I still haven't seen Initial D... I guess the video store got a few copies, but they sold out pretty quick...

To anyone who has seen it, where did you get it? Import movie store, or what?

I would just download the episodes, but over 56k, that would take ages :(

Check out ebay for Initial D. I got all four stages (11dvds) for $80 off of ebay. I think they sell them on VCD too if you want to go a little cheaper.

SCORE! it was tied at 36-36 and I BROKE IT! FUCK FATF. The cars were sweet but the acting sucked donkey balls. Anybody interested in imports before FATF got ass raped. nonono, dont want to get the message out. The more the message gets out, the wannabes and posers come out. And prices shot up after that damn movie. I harbor a deep hatred of that movie solely because of it's side effects: ricers and money. Before the movie, I was like one of 3 people in a city of 100K to give a flying fuck about imports. After the movie, that number went up exponentially. Not a month went by and at least 50 people armed themselves with fart cans, tinted their windows and shot off into the night in the vain attempt to transform their 1990 Accord into... bumbumbum: a 10 second car.

I got an idea, just ignore FATF, maybe it'll go away. Eleanor, fake or not, was still amazing.

all that fast and the furious did was boost the price of import cars and any performance part imaginable...it created the 16 year old rich boy car...a little 2 door civic, black windows, a huge tip and that's it...then they talk shit, you beat their dick in the dirt with ur car, then they make an excuse...

although i did like it more than Gone in 60 Seconds...

the girls in FATF looked better than just Angelina Jolie

Peacefully :smokin:,

I saw both movies and I voted for gone in sixty seconds. 60 seconds has a much better storyline and the cars were really cool. Although the cars in the fast and the furious kicked ass the storyline sucked and I only watch it for the race scenes whereas I can watch gone in 60 seconds in one sitting without fast forwarding or skipping.

But these movies pale in comparison to Bullitt.

I've seen some of that initial d video, and I must say drifting seems a little rediculous. Sure it's fun and looks cool, but those cars would be running much quicker lap times if they would apex the turns instead of sliding around them like the course is wet or something. I simply do not see the benefit of drifting on the race track.

This thread is old, I think I voted for gone in 60.

I heard the only good part of "bullit" was the chase scene and that the rest of the movie sucked, and that was coming from an owner of a new "bullit" GT.

that makes no sense! "That was coming from the owner of a Bullit GT?" Who cares?! Have you ever seen the movie.?.It's not even really about cars...It's a cop flik. There is just a bad ass car chase seen in it. Plus+ it IS a good movie.

I have to agree with what RiceRocket said!

I like F&F only cause of the street racing in it. The script was shit I agree, and it was very unrealistic... but the street racing was tight!

Ditto....I totally dug F&F for the fast cars and racing.
I have tied the vote at 43-43. Seems like we are all pretty equal, they were BOTH awesome movies !!!:flash:

I liked both, F&F was more fast paced while gone in 60sec had a little more drama despite also being in a sense fast paced. I liked both. I think the way both were made were good, if it was all about cars might as well not watch a movie just go get a show video or something. Sure no body likes inconsistencies and flaws but thats in every movie.. some things were uber gay for example the jump that elanor performs near the end across the bridge now thats just pathetic and ruins the whole thrill of the chasing.. ah well :/ He could have like crashed it partially or something.. the hell with them lol. F&F some of the stuff was really fruity like the quote you mentioned "it's not how you stand by the car its how you race it" and you know whats sad.. the more and more I have seen of these stupid things in movies .. the more and more real life became like that lol... I mean the ppl around me.. they get dumber haha.. it's dangerous how movies are made they encourage young'uns to behave like that.. heh im only 18 but i can see lots of high school peeps just like that.. maybe its just my school but hey.. ah well either way i liked both movies and wouldnt mind a sequel or a clone for another. I thaught the casting and acting was appropriate for each. I can't wait to see F&F2 and if there's a 3rd one (well i hope they dont screw up the 2nd to begin with).. ah well :/

Im new but I believe that that "Gone in 60 Seconds" was better because I really don't like imports and the action in "Fast and the Furious" was unrealistic. I like muscle cars better and it was nice to see that Nicolas Cage actually knows how to drive like in the movie. The only car I liked in "Fast and the Furious" was the 1970 Dodge Charger with the blower.
