...RHD. Well, here she goes, I started with Revell's lhd 99 itr tuner kit, and here's what I'm aiming for: 99, JDM, imported, rhd, turbo street racer :evillol: As you all know, converting the lhd to rhd dash is a bitch, so out came a dremel, and out came my spare fujimi rhd dash, yea, yea, the years are diff, but it fits just fine! The body would be painted now, but had to sit in CSC for 3 days straight! Damn boyds grey primer!! So, while it was sitting in it's bath, I went to wal-mart(what would we do without wal-mart?!) And picked up 3 can's of duplicolor. The body filler/primer in grey, Ford Racing (light blue cap), and some clear. While I was modifying the interior to fit the rhd dash, I decided, ya know, who needs a back seat in a sports/race car? So, out came the dremel again :icon16: and before I knew it the back was gone, and using 30 thousandths thick plastic card, I constructed a rear deck. Nitrous will be added.

Suspension & wheels: no pics of this stuff yet, just some chrome brakes that will recieve some blue for the endless look.

So, anyway, this puppy, has it in store. Mods include: Big turbo, size of the tranny :evillol: , lag you say :banghead: ; that's what the laffing gas in the back is for! :screwy: Will also feature intercooler, open turbo housing, hey, filters just hold you back!!
BTW, the paint isn't nearly as bright as it seems, it has a subtle look to it. Oh, and I'm almost done doing the accents in the bay, I did all the silver, now it needs red, white, and black.

i think the right side of the turbo is the exaust inlet, and the left is te intake. or vice versa. nice!!! so what'd you use for the turbos?

Hate to be a nit-picker but I seem to be the Honda die-hard around here (a title I would share with Jay had he not bought a Subaru). But if you are using the Revell Integra, it's not imported unless a front end conversion happened. The US market and Japanese market Integras were very different in the front, for all years. The Japanese had squarish headlamps very similar to the previous generation of Integras, while the US had the familiar two round ones. To me, that is more than just a nit. Sorry, I'm not trying to be an ass or anything.
But otherwise, not only is this a thread best.... I think it's a modelling best. This model looks great so far, I love what you've done with the motor. Its gonna look slick as all hell. I've got a turbo B18 in the works, too, but I don't know what I'm gonna put it in. Are you gonna use the click pen top for your turbo like Spoonman Dos did? That'd be sick! Can't wait to see it done, man, looks like it's gonna be killer. I'm always a sucker for motor detail.

Keep up the good work and if you can help me with making a turbocharger that would be great.

willimo, they also sold the 4 round lights in the land of the rising sun it had considerably more sales then the type Arrrgggh which is why theybrang the 4 round lghts here. so its possible, but if the conversion is not done then it can't be a JDM ARRrrrGh its had to be a US aRrgHh. =)

Ok....since I'm home, and bored I'll address the turbo thing first. Here's the idea, I photochopped the original type R pic to show you how the turbo header works. If you follow the arrows for cylinders 2-4 you see they all dump into the turbine section of the turbo. I think on cylinder 1 you all got confused. If you follow the white arrow, you can see that it comes outta the head goes up, 180* back down, then cuts to the right and runs under the header pipes of cylinders 2-3, once inbetween these two, it cuts to a 90* bend down into the turbo. although the cylinder 1 pipe is close to the compressor, a piece of aluminum foil will be placed there for a heat-blocker thingy.
http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/449000-449999/449738_168_full.jpg
Ok. Now, I wont be using pen click tops for the turbo inlet, instead I used 7/32 styrene tubing for the inlet pipe. I'm willing to make a basic turbo How-To Thread, however it will have to wait till this car is completed, because I'm on a deadline with this one, it was really given to me, and after completion will be placed in a case at a freinds house where we usually hang out, and work on models. It won't stay there, but it needs to be there for his birthday, basically he bet me I couldn't do it by his birthday, I'm going to prove him wrong.
Ok, now, I can walk you through how I made the turbo (keep in mind it took 1 hour to make, basically because I was using hot boiling water to heat the rod, and kept screwing up) Basically water boiling for 1 minute, let boil, using .100 styrene rod I stuck it under the water for 2 minutes, it came out and was curled. Make sure you use gloves of some sort, the plastic WILL be hot! I took some superglue and after getting the bend and circumference where I wanted I superglued the rod to itself. The last time it popped up, so a candle helped it hold place with itself. I did basically the same thing for the turbing housing. as far as the outlet and the middle where your lube and such comes into play I used the .100 for those, but the exhaust outlet will have a sleeve over it to make it bigger. I hope this helps a little.
Ok, to Willimo: This car came as inspiration from a car I saw on MTV's I'm a street racer. Supposingly it was an imported 97-99 JDM Type R, but minus the turbo. I just like the idea of the usdm look with RHD, that's why I made this rhd. I know the scales are off, but it's a model, and I don't care it looks good to me.
Fujimi....the color is not baby blue, it's Ford Racing Blue. The color gets brighter when in light. Here's a pic to show you how it looks with no flash
http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/449000-449999/449738_169_full.jpg
BTW, I did the red accents, and kinda got a blob of red allover the battery, but I have the ford racing blue duplicolor pen to fix where it blobed :iceslolan I have to do my black and white accents tonight, tell me what you all think.
BTW, Thanks for everyones keen interest and all their posts in this thread, if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I've painted the metal parts of the axels silver to represent a heavy duty 650+ horsepower piece.
http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/449000-449999/449738_178_full.jpg
The Recaro Fujimi seats have a black insert, don't mind the bubbles, just the camera's crappy resolution, they really look pretty good.
http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/449000-449999/449738_177_full.jpg
The suspension was also done in silver, I'm looking on google for some tein ITR suspension pics to see exactly what is green.
http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/449000-449999/449738_179_full.jpg
Also, Here's part of the 8point cage. It would technically be a 10 but there's no room for forward diagonal bars to come from the main hoop into the floor where the top support bars will be seeing as it's already a tight fit with the 1/24 seats in a 1/25 interior.
http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/449000-449999/449738_181_full.jpg
Here's a mock up to show you how it should look.

Thanks shorty. BTW, with the cat converter on the car, I had some 2.5'' piping braised on from the back of the cat all the way to the muffler, and to be honest, it's not very loud, not much louder than the stock piece, but it looks cool, it growls @4000rpm, and I love it. Makes a big difference in looks and performance of the car. Probably with the piping, making 20-30 more hp. And you can never have enough of that!
Thanks everyone for your posts, btw the top part of the cage got cracked in half, so I might not rebuild the front half and just leave the rear half for the teg. Hope everyone likes the updates you'll recieve tonight. I've got dull-coat to spray the whole interior with once completed, so no shine on the seats :D

I was going to buy either an Apexi universal, or a greddy, but their universals were about 160-190 plus shipping. Through Jegs.com, I got the APC muffler for 89.99, some wicked blue carbonfiber pedals (APC not stamped on, so no one knows, unless I say) for 11.99. All that, I waited 4 days, plus 8.99 shipping, handling was free, and for 95 bucks (includes 2.5'' piping with bent pieces to the cat, braised on) and it took less than an hour to do. I'm happy with the APC muffler, it doesn't have APC stamped on it anywhere, and I think my stock muffler was a tad bit quieter, when the guy cut it off, and the muffler hit the ground, the rotted insides that came out, it was like a stock full flow piece, only thing muffling, was the smaller 2'' pipe, and the rotted insides bouncing around.
Honestly, I'm glad I got the muffler and such, the pedals in the car are soo much larger now, and it looks and sounds great.

The exahaust and 2.5 piping doesnt produce 30 HP! Your crazy! It only produces about 10-15 more hp, a intake produces about 5-10 more hp. :2cents:

You've much to learn about the ways of the american....I've also got a K&N performance filter, and, yeah laf, air conditioning heat resistant duct bendable piping that I used to ram air into the stock air inlet from the slot in the front bumper. And I said 20-30, meaning it could range from 20 to 30, that's flywheel estimated anyways.

Well, guys, I have some good and bad news.

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/98589glosssedid_hud_003.jpg
Good news is I've made my HKS styled muffler, and added a flared' tip. I need your opinion, is it too large, or good enough?
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/98589glosssedid_hud_010.jpg
And, well, this is why I don't use Tamiya paints. I primed the hood in smooth surface, sprayed some gloss black, and yes, got some peel, and removed with 2k grit(wet) and added 2 lite mist coats of tamiya clear, and I have a hazy ass hood now, and a dimple in the middle. How can I fix this, P-man? Anyone?
Anyway, I did re-spray the interior in flat black (not tamiya) and I have to redo some silver and red accents, and glue in the seats, paint the cage (what color?)
Yeah, some reason cardomain isn't working, so I used AF.com uploader.

nooo, mike. I'm not ricing man. ricing is just the muffler and the pedals and acting stupid. My muffler isn't loud and ubsurd, it's low, quiet, and sleepy like. I like my pedals, but they need stain resistor, all dirty. Mike, not 3000hp, 30,000hp biatch! Oh yea, don't be jealous of my home-made air intake, it works just like a custom built one, it's been spray painted black, and doesn't have stickers all over. My car isn't lime green with a big wing 19's and a body kit. doesn't have a fake roll-cage. So, I'm not quite rice, I've almost burned a 97 ls vtec teg, but couldn't keep up with him past 80mph, that was before my mods, maybe I can beat him now :evillol:
Thanks JG, btw, I used your tutorial, and the first lamp I did didn't come out great (wasn't using right part of the toothpick to paint it) the other came out perfect, they just need the clear red.

I like the flared tip on the exhaust. It looks good, but I think it makes it look a little oversized.. but I'm still kind of ambivalent about it. I've had some Testors clears haze up when I spray them, but I don't know about the Tamiya ones. Any more work on the motor? Keep it up!

ah, i had a worse accident with my ITR hood... i had my first nearly perfect paintjob (only problem was the dust spec right in the middle...) and then i bumped something and a peice of plastic fell on the hood... so, it's being stripped, and redone :(

Will, the motor is so close to being done. just need some flat red for the valve cover and I can add the 'jdm' white plug wires, and drop it in, and glue the intake when done. But, I did my silver accents, will be painting cage silver, and gluing in the seats.

Schuber...if you remember, I'm using the fujimi rhd dash. I had to sand it with a dremel disc till it fit in there tight enough to not need glue, but I did glue it.
Justin, the color only looks bright when the flash is on, but yeah, the same color will be used.

More updates. I have so far, finished a 2.5'' turbo back straight exhaust system(still to be connected to muffler), using jgmodelcars tut on his tails, I did mine, but used stop-light red, and hazed the reverse lamps red, painted front turn signals amber, and I think that's it. The cage, I worked out to a 10point piece. However, I think it's more structurally supportive in the back (considering all the different size styrene rod I used to make it, and how many support bars there are). I've put the first mist coat of blue on the body, and it looks half decent, when I'm done here, I'll add another.

Indeed it looks good, too bad some pics are out of focus. You might consider putting and old penny or something next to the parts so the camera can focus on that, as it probably has trouble focusing on a shiny or transluscent object. Looks good so far, though, can't wait to see more.
