thanks JDM. The body does have orange peel, not too noticeable cept on the top. I found some 3k grit at pep-boys, and the guy there said best thing to do with orange peel with this paper, would be wet sand very litely and then give it a coat of polish compound and wax. So, I'lll try that.

I dunno. I got a real hazy hood with tami gloss black and clear over it, so I'm going to give this a try, maybe it'll come out okay, or maybe not. I dunno, anyway I'm real happy with it's progress.

Well, I fixed the hazy hood. Wet 2000 grit paper on square spots for 35sec a piece. then 6 coats of turtle wax makes it not necessarily shine, but I can read the instructions off the bottle with it. Also, I did the same with the body, but rubbed through the paint into the primer with it, and it has 3 coats of wax....so should I get the duplicolor ford blue touchup pen and fix? or call it street damage with the smoothest, glossiest paint job I've ever done??

Somebody may have addressed this but I did not feel like looking through all 5 pages :nono: But I am curious? did you consider that a RHD ITR would have to have the battery and the brake and clutch master cylinders switch sides in the engine bay?? with pedals on the right, you also need the master cylinders there for realistic functionality (though I know it would be a bitch to do). just something to think about seeing how detailed you are making this kit, just my :2cents:

Just to let you know, there is no such thing as a right hand drive USDM iTR, the only right hand drive iTR is the one from japan and that is the j-spec (JDM) version.

BTW turbo looks nice.

Just to let you know, there is no such thing as a right hand drive USDM iTR...

Really? Are you serious?? Who would have known such a thing?

Can't wait to see it done, man. It was goin' real steady and quick for a while, then all of a sudden... nuthin... and kinda disappointin', too. Is really a good project, and I was 'spectin' to see it around the turn of the month. Better late than never, they say, but man, step on it! I mean, not literally and stuff. That would suck. Jus' post it already!

Yeah.. I got some pics coming. Gimme time. BTW, ok, Yeah I just realized the whole brake clutch cylinder thing, and well, that was a bit much to do, and the average joe who looks at wont know.

Shorty, this is supposed to be a JDM Japaneses, Imported, RHD Turbo DOHC ITR 1.8.

Will....I know you wanna see it in all it's glory, but Im afraid to show because of where I rubbed through the paint with...but, I guess I learned my lesson...style wanna see. Oh yeah, will, wanna see my cousin kenny's new honda toy?? Figured you'd like to seeing as your a honda man.

Ok...95% complete, I have left: silver touch up on exhaust, install windows, glue on drivers side mirror, bend wheels to fit (the civic rims wouldn't accept the ITR's peg, so, i superglued some rod into them big enough the be superglued into the disc), add decals, throw up a finished thread.

Here is the ITR

I realize I forgot a pic with the hood on, but you get the idea. If you look closely in some pics you see where it rubbed through. yes, the cooler is lopsided because it's not glued in place.

Now, Here's Kenny's POS Honda:

He claimed it to have:

6spd
TV in wheel
18''s
body kit
euros
58'' aluminum tail
turbo 'prelude' v6
red racing seats
2 15''s

dual exhaust with 8'' tips on the muff's, is that even possible.

what is really has:

5spd
missing air bags
17''s and him and his brother say these are ''racing wheels'', clearly they are POFS's and i tried to convice him they aren't, but he's a dumbass
stock lights
dohc NA 1.8 vtec 4
stock seats
no sound (factory radio)

And, Willimo, would you please take the honor to declare that NO prelude ever came factory with a v6, and NO Civic del so (both USDM versions) ever came with a v6.

thanks

I know this is fake but im just saying, The only right hand drive iTR is the one from japan with the j-spec front end. The one you are building is the USDM one made in the US and that only comes in left hand drive.

Well, I installed the front bezels and rear bezels (one fell out in pic, but I glued it and the rear lenses in). I just need some elmers to do the front lenses. Also, the windows are in, and I'm still looking for that damn drivers side mirror.

What's that fool talkin' 'bout? V6 Prelude, 6speed! HA! As we all know....

Are you makin' fun of me??

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a POS. Got some potential, it does. But ditch those wheels and ditch them fast. YIKES! And it's weird that the emblems are "shaved" so poorly; I don't think that's a factory color and the muffler looks like a victim of some green overspray.

And we're all still waitin' on your ITR... I don't know how I missed this thread so many times, I look for it to be topped every day. It looks good so far. I know you've done some more work.. and it's gonna be hard to fix the spots you rubbed through the pain. I was talkin' to some fellas at a contest a year ago, and they said this to me: "Don't be afraid to do something twice." That had a profound effect on me, and allowed me to try new things and not sweat screwin' it up. I would say get another can and spray the body again, polish it out again and try it again. I know it's a lot of work, but you've put so much in already... Ah well, whatever you like. I can't even see the rubbed through spots; I was just makin' a point. Keep it up man, I can't wait for it's final stages.

Will.. thank your for explaining that. I recently drove the car this afternoon. I'll admit it's faster than my corolla, but with those heavy wheels it sucks through the turns. I was able to pop the hood and find an H22a laying under there. he also said, well, I thought it was a v6, thats what the asian that sold it to me said. anyway, will, I have decided to finishing building the car as it is with the rub throughs, but I figured something out. If I get some peel, I lay 4 coats of lacquer clear over it, and sand that haze with wet 2k grit paper and 6 coats of turtle wax and I have an excellent reflection. I just didnt clear coat the car, so it's there as an reminder to me to clear coat all my cars from now on. expect to see another itr, but the newer one in the same color scheme, but different wheels. Ill get some pics up, I really just have to install the head light lenses in and touch up some paint spots and its done.
