Racing a Mach 1

No, that's not what I'm saying. I said it before it's going to be a drivers race! You may win, you may lose. It's actually going to be a close race, and will be a matter of skill not car, more of a driver error will lose the race.

Take a look at this.
In the August 03 issue of 5.0 Mustang and Superfords, they ran a 03 Mach 1 to 13.19 at 106.7 MPH. This was in stock form with street tires.

In the March 03 Issue of MM&FF, they ran a 03 Mach 1 to 13.13 at 105.5 mph with a 2.07 60 foot time. This too was also bone stock. Anyone drag racer knows that if slicks were added to achieve a 1.8 or 1.9 60 foot, the Mach will be in the 12's no problem.

Now here's a direct quote straight from page 48 of the March issue of MM&FF. "for you Chevy loves out there, the Mach 1 is quicker then the SS Camaro we tested in the August issue. I guess we 4.6 Mustang freaks don't need a blower to bash your now-extinct big-inch F-bodies after all." End quote.

but a better race would be an all motor z06 vs.
the supercharged mustang cobra svt 2003, there weight is identical to the same an the vette will rip that Ford a new a$$

i was watching the video on kazaa the other day and it has the 2002
ZL-1 Camaro with 600 horsepower all motor and it ran a 9.55, so in other words since the ZL-1 is cheaper and faster then the supercharged
Ford GT that is 150,000 american dollars which goes to show how much better chevy is then the supercharged competition



Oh this is gonna be fun.... A stock ZL-1 running 9's..... I think not!!! Your only gonna see 9's with slicks. The ZL-1 uses a bone stock 10-bolt rear-end. You know what happens when you put slicks on a 600HP car with the stock 4th Gen 10-bolt.... Ask Self or Hypsi87 what happens.
So that Zl-1 is not stock and $80,000-90,000 dollars for a car with the stock 10-bolt.... Sounds like a steal to me....
Next even with the full upgrades and Fiske wheels I'm sorry but that ZL-1 is going to see nothing but taillights on a road course where the Ford GT was made to compete. Also that ZL-1 full race engine is made of less than 50% GM parts(block, heads, few vlavetrain pieces.) the rest is companies like weiand intakes etc.., ZL-1 is still cool but be honest about what it is and what it isn't.

Next I'm sorry but a stock LS1 Camaro is not going to touch an 03 Cobra in the 1320 exculding driver error. Bitch all you want that is fact! A Z06 dam well better beat a Cobra for the $20,000 more it cost!

GTstang you want fact. i have personally seen 10's on on a 10 bolt rear on multiple runs. so why would 9.55 be any harder??? also the modern ZL1, i am assuming they are talking about the berger ZL1's or the one from SLP. and i assume that you are talking about the one of a kind ZL1 built by john moss at the gm toybox using a donovan 572cid V8. i agree, that is not a valid car for comparison. except to the one off BOSS mustang that yall built to challenge it. ;) but the ZL1 that i think was being brought up uses the LS1 block used in the C5-R corvette. which is a GM block. LS6 heads, intake, and such, different cam, and tuning. and i assume your not talking about a 1969 ZL1 cuz that was all chevy too, and had a 12 bolt, and with modern rubber would kick everythings ass that has been brought up so far. it ran mid 11's back in the day, on bias pli 6in slicks and headers. those sir are the facts
