How many seconds will it take my stock Saturn SL2 to go 0-60mph? And if anyone knows, where did you get your information.

Put away the clown suit!

whats that mean?

i can't remember, but want to say about 9 seconds, it would be less(at lest with the five speed) but the gear ratio is set up so that the 2nd gear redlines at about 55, so you have to shift to 3rd just before 60

4.5 seconds. I have a 2002 5-speed that i clocked a 4.5 on the street. dont believe that? i did a 5 up a hill with another person in the car!!!

If you get 0-60 in 4.5s in your SL2 it must be heavely modified. stock there is NO way you get that, if fact I would find it hard to belive you could tune it enough to do that.

A 2003 Corvette targa does it in 4.5 seconds(car and driver, july 2002)

An SL2 does it in 8.6s acording to automotive performance central.
Motorweek says a 2000 SC2 w/manual will do it in 8.4 seconds.

did you get this info from a drag strip, because maybe it's your 60' time.

i dont kno wat kinda SL2 u got that redlines 2nd gear at 55 mph...my best friend's '92 SL2 redlines FIRST at 40, then SECOND at around 70...hes got an automatic with a factory performance chip...either way...i dont see redlining 2nd at 55 mph...my Grand Prix does the same thing...1st at 40, 2nd at 70

You are a strange person.

I have a SL2, which has 25% more power than your car and lower gearing, meaning it is a faster car than yours, and my car is far from fast, very far from it.

I am wondering how your measured these times?

stopwatch..not quite exact, but very close. 4.5 was what i got. repeated, got tha same thing... just tellin u what i did. i also hav an sl2, i noticed that it is pretty delayed around 2k on the tach.

dude im telling you right now you didnt get a 4.5 0-60 time in a stock saturn. its just plain idiotic to think that a saturn could beat (or compete w/) the following:

porsche 911
bmw m3
ferrari 360 spider
acura nsx
corvette
M-B sl55 AMG
ford svt mustang cobra
maserati cambiocorsa
bmw z8
bmw m5
aston martin vanquish
audi rs6

either ur speedometers broken beyond belief or you toss out some serious b.s.

Come on guys get with the program. You shouldn't even be discussing these kind of numbers with regard to a Saturn. :screwy: Hate to think what you would say if you had a real muscel car. 0 to 60 in under 5 sec? Give me a break ya Jeuvinile. :banghead:

Oh BTW, I did have a Chevette a few years ago I did the 1/4 mile in 45 seconds :-)

dead serious, i clocked at least 10 more times after the 4.5 i did, and they were all dead on...4.5 seconds. the car's transmission is built off of 0-60, with the capabilities of reaching the limits on the speedometer...eventually.
