on random occasions the clock on my factory radio flashes and then goes out. the small icon that tells you if there is a cd in or not still stays on and it still plays music. the dealer could not find the problem a few times and then eventually replaced the radio. it still does the same thing and my warrenty is ending febuary 17. please if anyone could help me i would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance. :banghead: :banghead:

Even if the warranty goes out, there's already been set a precendent for this problem. Therefore, they have to honor the fact that it wasn't fixed the first time, and still fix it after the warranty is up...

i hope so. i am going to talk to the dealer and see what they say about it. i just wish i could find out the problem before hand and just have them repair it since they can't seem to find the solution. if anyone else has had or heard about this problem any information would be appreciated. thanks

Well I went to another chevy dealer in my area and had them check it out. They said that the new radio is defective and that to go back to where i bought it to be replaced under the spare part warrenty. I went there today and they said that there going to order me a new one so hopefully this radio works.

in your impala do you have the rds system . if so your kinda stuck with that stereo as it controls links directly to your ecu and it controls your air bags as well. if you don't have a rds system i would suggest replacing it with a after market head unit.(since you've already indicated your warranty is almost up) also check your wiring harness to make sure there r no bare wires and nothing is grounding out your stereo. also if any of your speakers r blown they could be causing your stock head unit to be shorting like that. take it to an audio specialty shop. i.e. audio express and have them test the speakers and if you want have them put in a new head unit

I have been having the same problem and it doesn't matter whether the weather is warm or cold. When I went to the dealer about something else, I told him and naturally it did not do it for him. One never knows when it will do it.
Let me know if you find out anything.

the chevy dealer is going to replace the cd player again for the 2nd time because they say that its faulty. try going to your dealer and getting a new one if you are still covered under warrenty. if not you should just get an aftermarket if it really bothers you.

Thanks for the info. I will discuss it with my dealer.
Hope the second replacement takes care of your problem. Good luck!
