92 SC Won't Start

My 92 SC won't start. I think something is draining my battery but i have no idea what. I just put this battery in and i know it didn't die on me. I'm in NY and its cold as hell so I was wondering if that could be affecting my battery in any way. I can't even turn on the lights inside the car they just flicker dim and go out again the engine doesn't crank at all i turned off all the instruments that could be sucking up juice but still no luck. does anyone have any ideas?

I was wondering if it could be possible that the fluids under my hood froze causing the car not to start. I just got the car a week ago and it isn't insured yet so it hasn't really been driven much. But I don't see how that would affect my lights and other instruments. Someone please give me some suggestions

I live in VT so i know what u mean about the cold weather. Considering the symtems I doubt anything froze. If you take real short trips in the car when its really cold the battery wont have time to be charged by the alternator and recover from the larger amount of electricity it takes to start the motor. Also you could have a bad alternator.

I suggest taking the battery back to the store were you bought it from and have them charge it. Then put it back in your car and start it. Drive the car for 15 minutes. Park it and leave it idling while you check the voltage across the battery poles with a voltmeter. You should have at least 13 volts. If you have someone give the car some gas you should be around 14-14.5. If you are over 15, or never get over 13.5 during reving then the alternator is probably dead. Even if the voltage is good the rectifier/diodes may be bad which will allow some ac current into your electrical system and destroy your batteries. Normally batteries leak after some time if this is a problem though.

Thanks for the info i guess ill get a battery thats better suited for the weather. Hopefully i wont have anymore problems.
