Well yeh i know it sounds stupid but im thinkin bout sellin the civic. Its becoming too much of a money pit for me.. especially for insurance. 250 buckas a month CANADIAN. Just dosnt seem worth it for a little 1.5 box. I really dont want to sell cause it has soo much custom work and is very sentimental. But you gotta do what ya gotta do right? Ill keep u guys and gals updated on whats happnin. I really want to go newer, but that wont happen with a civic due to the damn insurance rates here. Anyways Its either sell it now and get sum cash out of it or drive it to the ground and trash it... which i would hate to see happen. I think id rather spend the cash for a newer car and save major on insurance.

Yeah driving without insurance is really cool :loser: . People that do that are the reason why our (people that actually pay) insurance is so high. Figures that suggestion would come from you.

Oh, fiercecivic, how much would you save by insuring a newer car? Logical thinking would say its more expensive to insure a new car correct?

im not goin that much newer like 91-93. Its the make and modle that are the big diffs on rates. 3 years diff isnt gonna make a big dent.

that doesn't make any sense to me. the major cost of insurance is liability which only covers the occupants & the vehicle you hit. if you have collision insurance, that can fluctuate from person to person based on the value of the vehicle. it certainly costs more to insure a newer vehicle because it costs more than the one you are getting rid of. Suck it up and pay it...it is a neverending battle dude...shop around and make sure you are getting the best deal you can. The other options are to get married and turn 25...for some reason, insurance companies think married people get in less wrecks :bloated:

What he said.

When my insurance company decideds to raise their rates, I start making phone calls to other companies... there's always someone with a better price. My civic isn't on the insurance right now, but I currently only pay about $100 a month (USD) for full coverage on my Camaro... I'm under 25, and driving a sports model car. Now if that's possible, surely there's someone you can find that will insure your econo-box civic for less than I get my camaro insured for :P

damn... I though I had it bad 3300$ (a Deal thru a friend) a year for All but collision (1 mil liability, 100 deduct on theft and vandalism & 100 deduct on acts of god) under 25 with a accident 3 years ago (parking lot 700$ dmg).

works out to about 275 a month (I put down a big down payment so I actualy pay less)

damn insurance... stealing my turbo money...

Boy that's one thing I don't have to worry about. Me and my b/f have insurance together. We never told them that we were married, but when we went in to get insurance, they automatically assumed that we were married. The rates are pretty low considering he has about 3 tickets on his MVR and I have 1. We have 3 cars insured right now ('97 Ford F-150, my '92 Prelude, and my '91 Civic) We only pay $228 a month!! Progressive Insurance

What companies are you all dealing with??

mines thru CAA, prolly why i'm gettin raped, gonna call some other agencies and see what they offer, thinkin of callin Toronto Dominion (TD) cuz my bros not payin much for insurance thru them, (hes had numerous tickets and accidents) even when he had his 91 BMW he was payin less then me!!! bastard lol
so i'm gonna call em sometime and see what they offer

brooklyn has the highest theft rate for honda. its a shame.
also i read in the paper that 70% of people who drive in nyc area have a suspended licence.
