where is the thremstat 1997 sl1

I know this maybe a stupid qestion but where is the thremstat for a 1997 Saturn SL1.........Has you can see I am not that good with cars lol.

Someone was telling me that it is close to the motor....is it in the hose or not.........I did not take it apart but would like to know where it is first before I start to take the hose off.......I hope someone here can help me thank you

It's located on the front of the engine block, under the AC compressor.

The lower radiator hose connects to the thermostat housing.
